Birx, who was appointed by former President Barack Obama to serve as United States Global AIDS Coordinator in 2014, graduated from the Pennsylvania State University medical school in 1980. She was issued a medical license in Pennsylvania in 1987.
That license expired on December 31, 2014, and it has not been renewed since then, according to the Pennsylvania Licensing System Verification Service, courtesy of the Pennsylvania Department of State.
Birx, who is listed as residing in Potomac, Maryland, does not appear in Maryland practitioner records.
Birx is garnering criticism for touting a disputed model for the Coronavirus outbreak prepared by the University of Washington’s IHME, a project of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Birx serves on the board of the Global Fund, which has received more than $2 billion in funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

To renew a medical licence, the physician must complete annual course work and pay an annual renewal fee.
She’s still a Doctor....she just can’t practice if she’s not registered.
She might be able to get it legit reinstated with a phone call. I checked with VA last week and I can get mine reinstated free by sending a pdf writable form to them, I just cant do it because you have to print it out and I threw out my old printer. But I could get my license reinstated as Licensed, but inactive, not seeing patients for free this afternoon. If I could send that image.
You can go to VA State Board of Medicine and check for yourself.
An expired license is TERRIBLE!
They should demand to know why she has an expired license!!
Just like they demanded to know why Barak and his husband Michael no longer had their law licenses!!!
Oh wait.. they didn’t
I assume she has been busy keeping her skill set updated and continuing education.

Heck, they don’t even need degrees in pertinent fields.
Birx is no more intelligent than Dr Zelenko from New Jersey, Dr. Anthony Cardillo from LA, Dr Didier Raoult from France and thousands of doctors from the 6,000 doctor worldwide study, who have actually treated thousands coronavirus patients with Chloroquine and found it very effective.
Furthermore, the above named doctors plus thousand worldwide are vastly more expert at coronavirus treatment than Birx or Fauci, who have treated exactly ZERO patients suffering from coronavirus.
Every single model they relied on for their wild eyed, hysterical predictions have proved to to be bogus.
By that logic, Trump shouldnt be talking about Covid-19 at all then.
Ummm.. one difference...President Trump was elected by 62 million Americans to make exactly such decisions for the country. All executive power is vested in the president.
Who elected Fauci and Birx?
Its bizarre you would treat a piece of paper issued by a state bureaucracy after merely paying a fee as the holy-grail of all medical decision making for the entire country.
That “piece of paper” as you call it, is what saves us from quacks and snake oil salesmen.
Believe more than that has expired.
I believe you must put in a certain amount of time treating patients in order to keep your license current. My Congressman is an MD and I think he said this. Rand Paul, also an MD, treats patients (gratis).
It isn't like a driver's license.
I do believe in VA a license to be active, seeing patients is about $200, FP Boards cost $700 to $1000. A DEA# is about $750. A cheap Malpractice policy for FP runs about $5K up front and subsequent years are a function of whether they have to spend any of the $5K. It can go down from $5K a year but generally takes a 5 year record to get the discount. All estimates from my experience and memory. Which was why I quit. My practice was about 40 friends and it just wasnt reasonable to continue as a hobby.
Plus I was sick of throwing the drug seekers out.
Debbie does D.C.
That was my first thought. I want her overall expertise on medical issues, not as a direct patient care provider.
I presume this is a hit piece, though I suspect many ignorant (I mean in the informative sense, not the pejorative sense) people will form an opinion on this.

You don’t have a talk show, do you?
This concerns me MORE than her expired med license.
I agree, I would find that far more objectionable.
To be covered with the stink of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation carries far more weight to me than an expired license. (I personally let my own license for my specialty expire decades ago because I couldn’t spend the time, money, or energy to keep it current...it wasn’t worthwhile to me in any calculus I could devise. I knew I wasn’t going back to practice it)
That said, I have never seen her nor listened to a word she says, so I can’t vouch one way or another. My wife who does seems to like her.
(I don’t watch television)
I utterly reject Bill Gates for the things he has given huge amounts of money to. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is a Fever Swamp of Leftist agendas. And that is no exaggeration.
Nope
:-)
That was an excellent post, FRiend, and your profile page is simply outstanding !
