Sunday on New York AM 970 radios The Cats Roundtable, economist Stephen Moore weighed in on the potential impact of the coronavirus to the United States economy.
Moore warned the nation could be facing a potential Great Depression scenario if the United States stays on lockdown much past the beginning of May, as well as an additional amount of deaths caused by the raised unemployment rate.
[A]t some point soon, were going to have to make some real decisions about what kind of a calamity we are causing through this lockdown of our economy, Moore told host John Catsimatidis. Im not saying we shouldnt be inattentive to the public health concern we should. But at some point, we have to worry about what were doing to our society, and what kind of economy were going to have after this is all over.
He went on to suggest President Donald Trump and governors across the country should get the economy up and running for the good of our country by coming up with smart policies.
If we go much past May 1st, we are facing a potential Great Depression scenario, Moore added after agreeing with Catsimatidis that the economy needs to be started back in the next 30 days.

Never heard of Stephen Moore, sorry.
When Trump opens the economy...
Every Headline will be how many people died because he opened the economy..
They should not pay all government worker, teachers, college professors, and the MSN and see how they feel about going back to work
Facing, possibly, could be, might, maybe, projected...

How about taking one day at a time and praying a little and having that faith that is so bragged bout on here during GOOD TIMES.
It’s ironic. This has made my faith stronger.
But I see some that I know in different aspects of my life in sheer terror of this virus.
So pious and such believers.
Until their earthly goods and lives were threatened.
as if this rock was the be all and end all.
It’s not.
Let the people choose to wear face masks, wash their hands and not touch their faces until they do.
Let’s return to a Free Republic.
Let’s get on with getting it on.
Yes, you have.
Then, we need to be as prepared as we can by the end of the month and end the lockdown.
I honestly don’t know where we could start. So many now depend on the government and our monetary system is so screwed up that IRS hard to say what would be helpful.
The 1930s Depression was the result of things that took place under Hoover and also Roosevelt’s National Recovery Administration and related policies. And I recall reading from Milton Friedman that there was also the Federal Reserve acting very inappropriately and that in turned caused a severe shortage in the money supply and made what might have been a situation in 1931 and 1932 with weak to mild recovery even more worse.
It’s all politics. Politics, get Trump, TDS, Orange Man Bad, 24-7.
In the run-up to election day, Trump is going to be beating the living crap out of them. It’ll be something to see. It’s going to be the aftermath of the “Russia, Russia, Russia” collapse, squared.
I can’t wait to see what Rachel Maddow, Cenk Uygur, and Joy Behar do on the air.
More Navarro. Less Fauci.
Bull shit go away whoever you are.
One sacrifices, EVERYONE sacrifices.
A gov. that's allowed to pick winners(particularly themselves) and losers...is corrupt as hell.
a republic, if you can keep it
May 1 would be good news in Virginia. Governor Blackface has us on lockdown until June 10.
America has had a couple of Great Awakenings. IIRC one was during the Civil War. IIRC it was Commager who observed that when Americans went to war there were bands and camp followers of prostitutes and whisky peddlers. After 4 years of war it was preachers and tent revivals.
So, 2 months of this is going to completely shut down our economy? I think with a lesser leader, this could be the case. Hoover was not a leader like Trump.
Now, if a Dem were in charge now, I have no doubt we’d be in a Great Depression, because they would just let it happen.
Ran Club for Growth. Longtime Larry Kudlow sidekick.
Not especially impressive IMO, but seems like a nice guy.
OK, thanks for filling me in.
This economy has tons of ready energy. Just let everyone live their life.
