I’m talking about RESTAURANTS in particular. I’ve already seen estimates along those lines for several major metro areas.

I will also tell you that my life was going along just fine with my two restaurants until Obamacare the health insurance for my two small businesses became so much I could no longer survive, I closed both restaurants I went to work for a major grocery chain just for the reasonable health insurance you have NO IDEA what you are talking about!! I am sure you have NEVER owned a small business and have no idea what these people go through to keep them open and keep people working!! OMG I have become so disappointed in some of the so called conservatives on this site!!!

Someday you’ll regret willfully wearing a target on your back as you support tyranny.

I suspect a lot of folks on this site aren’t just rural retirees. They’re rural retirees living on GOVERNMENT pensions. This viral outbreak is the type of issue that very quickly exposes those FReepers who have never earned a living in the private sector — let alone managed a business themselves.

I can tell you I know personally of 20 businesses here in my area who are dead in the water and we would laugh out loud at your comment of millions in the bank. Many of us get by month to month...

Most of them are asset rich, and cash poor. Trouble is, not even the assets can help right now. The only buyers would be bottom feeders who wouldn't give you reasonable value because of the state of the country.

I too have wondered how these bedwetters, huddling in fright under their kitchen table with their pacifiers firmly in place could possibly be affected by (allegedly) free people attempting to go about their lives.

This is the big mystery.

Sadly, you completely missed my point.

I was responding in the affirmative to a poster who said what a government shutdown does to a successful economy and business.

I was not criticizing what a business has to do to survive when confronted with these circumstance.
