Rhode Island cops enforcing the states coronavirus quarantine order have bagged three golfers from Massachusetts on misdemeanor charges.
Richmond police say the three duffers went to elaborate lengths to hide their identities as out-of-towners so they could get in a round of golf at the Meadow Brook Golf Course in town on Wednesday.
Gregory Corbett, 51, Tyler Pietrzyk, 22, and Nye Cameron, 22, were apprehended at a nearby McDonalds restaurant, where police say the men changed cars to drive to the club in a vehicle with Rhode Island license plates, the Attleboro Sun Chronicle reported Friday.
Employees at the McDonalds ratted them out.
Rhode Island enacted a coronavirus quarantine order March 30 requiring out-of-towners entering the state to self-quarantine for 14 days unless they are working in the state. The order intially targeted New Yorkers only.
Massachusetts forced golf courses in the state to close last week to contain the virus.

As soon as it warms up enough here, I’ll be on the golf course. F’em.
“The sea was angry that day, my friends...”
“As soon as it warms up enough here, Ill be on the golf course. Fem”.
That’s exactly what one of my brothers told me yesterday and he’s a retired asthma-allergy Doctor.
Not enough fresh air or space to social distance on the golf course?
Good writing. The three duffers were bagged by the cops, apprehended near a McDonalds.
Many state governors have done the same as Rhode Island: If you’re coming in from out of state, you self-quarantine for 14 days.
These guys clearly knew that as they went to elaborate lengths to change cars midway. While I agree that sounds like a scene from a B-movie heist plot, the essence of the action is the same: it was done in an attempt to skirt the law.
The men’s individual freedom gave them the choice of entering RI or not; once they chose to enter, they should have abided by the 14-day quarantine.
I do believe that 360 yards is within the realm of ‘social distancing’... My most favorite new catch phrase.

Does the state have authority to do this?
[ Employees at the McDonalds ratted them out. ]
Didn’t supersize. That made ‘em mad.
[switched cars]
That seems par for the course.
I guess a golf cart would have been even more obvious.
Is that a Titleist?

(What an unlawful departure of RI fiefdom from the visitors' Constitutional rights to travel and abide anywhere they wish as non-vagrant U. S. citizens, without let or hindrance.)
Our golf course was open the last week of March but then we got snow and lower temps again. Looks like sometime this coming week, it should be good to go again. I'm going stir crazy here staying home for this f'ing hoax.
I question the validity of this report.
If these had actually been golfers, they would have asked
for a mulligan, and could have actually been given one.
This is not a drill folks.
They were arrested for not keeping their balls 6 feet apart.
All they have to do is claim that they are illegal immigrants. They will be set free.
