Missouri stay-at-home order effective Monday and Walmart starting this today. Gonna be hell at walmart here this weekend. People trying to stock up with stuff to last until late April.
Crowds in the parking lot at Walmart to appear on “People of Walmart today. Everyone post your most flamboyant crowd pictures. Extra points for face masks while wearing pajamas and slippers. Bonus for three hundred pounders practicing three inch social distancing.
I tried to order online for home delivery at WalMart. No slots today or tomorrow. Maybe Monday?
Tried the same at my local supermarket chain. No slots through the 17th of April, no in-store pick-up.

A better policy would be for at risk people to quarantine at home and for Americans to immunize the younger people with a dose of hydroxychloroquine and the accompanying regimen and have most people back to work.
That would be a rational policy.

Make sure you have your license and proof of insurance on the way in, in case your breathed on in line, by an uninsured shopper.
Our local Walmart isn’t busy outside of opening so it’ll be alright for me. Policy is probably because of the early morning crush and PR.
One way aisle traffic reminds me of some Army commissaries.
I will not wait in line to enter a Walmart. I will shop at another store that is more convenient. I will not use the pick-up service either.
I went yeasterday and bought a bunch of stuff for the cats to get through this. I ain’t going back until some of this settles down.

I have a nearby Wal-Mart grocery store, maybe the worst run store around, even before COVID. It may be months or longer before I return, maybe never.

I don’t disagree, but doing that is not something that the retailers can do. That’s a government function, and the stores have to adapt to that or be closed. They also have to avoid being sued. This is the result.
