A Venezuelan Navy ship has sunk after colliding with the ice-strengthened hull of an expedition cruise ship earlier this week.

Yes! Truly, I am baffled. And the boat that is rammed is not making way!
You have a small cruise ship in international waters that is attacked repeatedly and foolishly by a military vessel. And fired upon!
It’s simply stunning.
Then there’s the story of a guy who intentionally derailed a train because he had one beef with a hospital ship?
It’s like the left attacking Trump.
The actions of the Venezuelan captain may have been exaggerated, but it does appear that the cruise ship's bow hit something. One good whack from an ice-rated ship is probably enough to breach the hull of that patrol vessel.
I do find the lack of photos or videos showing the damaged and sinking patrol vessel to be a bit suspicious. Such events just do not go unrecorded these days.
I just cannot find any record of it. And no mention of deaths, the rescue of survivors, etc.
And this story hit on a few sites on April 1st. Has the vibe of April Fools.
I’ve seen stories that claim the VZ navy rescued all its men, no casualties. And thus no extra creative Darwin award.
Agreed. All the skipper has to say is something like "I didn't stop to pick up survivors because, due to the hostile intent shown, I thought I might be torpedoed by a sub."
