The actions of the Venezuelan captain may have been exaggerated, but it does appear that the cruise ship's bow hit something. One good whack from an ice-rated ship is probably enough to breach the hull of that patrol vessel.
I do find the lack of photos or videos showing the damaged and sinking patrol vessel to be a bit suspicious. Such events just do not go unrecorded these days.
I just cannot find any record of it. And no mention of deaths, the rescue of survivors, etc.
And this story hit on a few sites on April 1st. Has the vibe of April Fools.
