Highest daily number of deaths from the flu is 508. Covid will go way beyond 2000.

ITB s tough to say, because so many people are being written off as covid victims when it is more likely they died of their underlying conditions.

US sets grim new global record with 1,480 COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours

In absolute terms, this is a factual statement.

Of course, the USA is the third most populous country on the planet, so you would EXPECT the US to have a large number of X.

If you adjust the daily increases in each country's COVID=19 deaths for its respective total population, the record belongs to tiny San Marino (population of 33,574) which saw 6 deaths on March 21.

For countries with 10MM or more people, the country with the highest daily rise in size-adjusted Coronavirus fatalities is the UK (population of 9,890,400) which saw 569 new fatalities on April 2.

For countries with 50MM or more people, the country with the highest daily rise in size-adjusted Coronavirus fatalities is France (population of 67,076,000) which saw 1,355 new fatalities on April 2.

not to mention that with normal flues, we never shut down the entire nation and made everyone hide fr m the virus either- who knows what the numbers would be if we hadn’t with this virus- I’m curious what is gonna happen when people get back to work, back to jammed inside subways, buses, cabs, trains, planes etc once again- people who were not exposed to the virus coming into contact with infected people- the virus will still be out there- seems like the same thing will happen- a few cases at first- then more, then a bit more, then a lot more- then what? More shut downs?

The bizarre aspect to this is that almost half the deaths are in New York.
