If former Vice President Joe Biden continues to fail at winning the confidence of Democrats in general and the DNC in particular, it seems increasingly likely they will make a move at or before the Democratic National Convention to replace him with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Thats fine for many Republicans who see Cuomo as a weak leader who is even more unpopular than Biden to many in the progressive base.
But those who have actually had to live through his policies over the years are starting to speak out, including lifelong Democrats like Sean Petty and Kelley Cabrera. Both are nurses in New York City and are facing the hardships weve all been hearing about. The video above by far-left Democracy Now! calls out Cuomo for his failed policies. They see the problem of a drastically reduced capacity and blame their Governor directly for it.
I would call Governor Cuomo probably the single most important person in terms of the drive to close down hospital beds in this state over the last 20 years, Petty said. In New York state, we have gone from 73,000 beds to 53,000 beds from the year 2000 to the present time.

Cuomo the corrupt and his idiot side kick commie dope have pulled down the pants of all NY’ers yet you still have many looking to him to save them, lunacy! These people cant see or smell sh## if its under their noses, your in this deep you might as well eat
73k to 53k is more than a 25% decrease.
NY has not lost 25% of its population over the last 20 years.

yep
It would be like the boom after the black death. Plenty of cheap places to live and lots of money via inheritance.
Earlier this week, some FReeper posted a list of over 150 (165, I think) hospitals in the New York area <
that were closed by the State.
I wish I had retained that list ... dang !
That's a lot of healthcare beds just eliminated and gone, and made into co-ops, condos, and schools.
The fact that they would nominate a governor that failed his state so badly that it now has over half the cases that the other 49 have show =s he has no leadership qualities
Yeah, someone needs to explain to Dems that kicking ass/leading in total deaths is a bad thing.
Cuomo the Corrupt is a good name for him.
Don’t know about that but you can bet it was political 100%.
Follow the money, I’m sure Cuomo used the money for donors or his own pet projects.
Government and other 3rd party payers have been pushing medical care from in hospital care to outpatient care for more than 20 years, claiming that saves money. Don’t let people get admitted as easily and send them home when barely better. Do otherwise and you won’t get paid. In their view not nearly as much hospital capacity was routinely needed and spare capacity was an expense they’d rather spend elsewhere.
