And it’s difficult to find eggs around here. All of a sudden everybody’s discovered home cooking.
I’m in Kansas and eggs seem scarce here, too. Stores have ordered them but they aren’t coming in on the trucks. Thats really odd because its spring and the hens are going into overdrive this time of year.
Every meat department in my neck of the woods is cleaned out.
No more takeout for awhile and the grocers cannot keep up.
We’ve been to several stores over these last hot 3 weeks, and there is just ONE thing that we NEVER see, ever: TOILET PAPER.
We haven’t looked for it desperately, just casually and we did go out quite a bit for every little thing (including drug-store for Rx and convenience stores), as we monitored neighbor’s statements on FB etc about good places, and always looked for TP. Finally got some last week at the hardware store - when it opened. That is the key - when it opens.
Other products that have been ravaged but usually or always available:
Paper towels
tissues
Eggs
Breads
I’ve actually found milk pretty plentiful - spaces exist, but usually always there regardless of which store or day into this nonsense.
Your so right, now I’m watching YouTube to see how to make bread because some loaf of bread are like 5 bucks.
I have two chickens so I'm set in the egg department. After a month of not stepping foot in the grocery store, I finally went in. The flour shelf was empty. I grabbed a bag of sugar just to be supportive. The meat dept was full but a bit pricey. It's going to be expensive feeding my GSD. She has a high prey drive so maybe one day I'll just let her loose and let her catch herself a rabbit or deer.
1st of the month just passed. Panic buyers are hoarding staples again.
