You may notice “WA” in the graph. That stands for Washington, because the first deaths from coronavirus in the country were right in my backyard in Eastern King County in a care facility that both my wife and I have volunteered and been paid at. The deaths began to decline here and overloaded hospital intensive care units began to empty out over a week ago, even while the rest of the state and the country started getting worse. This happened before our governor's stay at home order could have had any effect.

Why? Because we have half a million Chinese living in this part if the county and they visit home often. University of Washington researchers concluded a month ago that the virus had been spreading around our community weeks before the first deaths started to occur. It has now run its course and is on the decline with far less illness and death than the flu season of 2017-18. The worst case scenarios on this thing that have caused a huge over reaction are not likely to come true in most places in the world except those with horrible socialized medical systems like Italy, Spain and England.

I can’t say for sure, but I assume that’s how many doctors, nurses, and support people get to their jobs. NYC is not like most places. They all can’t take UBER and LYFT to the hospital or nursing home.

Exactly. Infectious diseases have been around forever. We don't stop living just because another infectious disease pops up, especially since its not even infected 1 million worldwide yet.
Life MUST go in, work MUST continue, economic activity MUST continue.
We can't go back to being cave dwellers because of some diseases which kills mostly average age 80 geezers with other illnesses.
