An infectious disease doctor who has been treating coronavirus patients told Fox Newss Laura Ingraham Wednesday that the combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin is a game changer in fighting the deadly virus.
Ingraham started off the segment showing the breakdown of Dr. Stephen Smith's 72 patients, which included a mix of those who were prediabetic, diabetic, and had a high Body Mass Index score indicating obesity.
The more we see this disease, the more we understand that severe rapid COVID disease is in diabetics or prediabetics we dont have anyone in our group over 80 that was not diabetic or pre-diabetic that was intubated, said the founder of the Smith Center for Infectious Diseases and Urban Health. And of the younger patients that had severe disease, he explained they had very high BMIs.
We havent had anyone under 70 who didnt have a very high BMI, or was pre or diabetic, get seriously ill, he said. This is amazing stuff.
When the two discussed treatment options and the use of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, Smith said they are treating everyone with it and it has had incredible results.
No person who has received five days or more or the [drug] combination has been intubated, he said. The chance of that occurring by chance are .000-something, its ridiculously low no matter how you look at it.
Smith agreed with President Trumps earlier assessment that the drug combination is a game changer.
I think this is the beginning of the end of the pandemic, he concluded. Im very serious.

THE SMITH CENTER FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASES:
https://www.smithcenternj.org/
INTRODUCTION
The Smith Center for Infectious Diseases and Urban Health was developed to address infectious diseases in the inner city. This non-profit center, which is initially focusing on HIV, recognizes that inner city patients face many unique challenges in their daily lives. These challenges interfere with treatment of infectious diseases and foster an environment where infectious diseases are easily spread. Infectious diseases are different from other diseases in that successful treatment reduces their spread.
When you treat a person with diabetes, you treat that one person. When you treat a person with HIV, you greatly reduce the chances of transmission and treat the whole community. In the past 10 years there have been incredible advances in HIV treatment. The drugs are easier to take and extremely effective.
Inner city HIV+ patients in New Jersey have excellent access to physicians and clinics. The state provides free medications to those without insurance. Yet the number of new HIV cases per year in New Jersey has stayed the same for the past decade.
We at the Smith Center believe that by using novel approaches we can rid New Jersey of HIV. We have designed programs to incentivize patients to continue their medications. We have created a personal atmosphere, where each patient is known by her or his first name.

We havent had anyone under 70 who didnt have a very high BMI, or was pre or diabetic, get seriously ill, he said. This is amazing stuff.
“Very High BMI”, does that me “fat”?
So, unlike the media clowns and Dem’s peddling doomsday, this guy has some legit ‘ street cred’.
I live in NJ and was lucky enough to get a procedure to manage pain last Friday. While getting this I received both a COVID-19 test and was lucky enough to be there while the infectious disease doctors from the hospital system where at the center inspecting it.
A long talk with the infectious disease team soon revealed what this and other doctors have confirmed. There are treatments and they are having success with them.
So then, why is it that guys like Dr. Stephen Fauci King are rolling eyes? Because Dr. Fauci the Duce is a bureaucrat. He is paid to prolong problems, not solve them. It isn’t a conscience effort on his part. It is in his DNA since he has been a bureaucrat for so damn long. Cures and treatments without years of testing are anathema to him. They solve a problem and that is a job security no no right there.
Yes, very freaking fat
Duke....Yale...Bethesda....impressive!
THANK YOU for good news no this depressing news day!!
Talking about 40 million unemployed.
A second wave of the virus almost guaranteed.
I was about to tighten the noose but they I saw this thread.
But then I slipped off the chair. Thank God I’m so heavy the beam just ripped out of the ceiling.
I knew being fat would save my lie one day!!!
JK
Body Mass Index, so yeah, if you have a high BMI that means you got mo fat than muscle.
Whoa, the media better get on destroying this guy asap. Surely he is a child molestor or something.
Yet the esteemed Democratic Governor Murphy of NJ has made it nearly impossible for primary care physicians to treat COVID-19 patients in the earliest stages by making hydroxychloroquine impossible to procure by regulations at local pharmacies. This bizarre man is mesmerized by his own voice and just glows as he gives his daily nauseating “briefings”. If this jerk would scream for supplies and access to hydroxychloroquine he would do infinitely more good than his endless babbling.
RE: Very High BMI, does that me fat?
FROM CDC:
https://www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/assessing/bmi/index.html
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a persons weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. A high BMI can be an indicator of high body fatness. BMI can be used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems but it is not diagnostic of the body fatness or health of an individual.
A high BMI can be an indicator of high body fatness. BMI can be used as a screening tool but is not diagnostic of the body fatness or health of an individual.
To determine if a high BMI is a health risk, a healthcare provider would need to perform further assessments. These assessments might include skinfold thickness measurements, evaluations of diet, physical activity, family history, and other appropriate health screening.
You can't say that! The leftists aren't through trying to trash the economy and damage President Trump yet! This Dr. and his findings will have to be at a minimum buried as non-news, though discredited and attacked would suit the leftists more.
For adults 20 years old and older, BMI is interpreted using standard weight status categories. These categories are the same for men and women of all body types and ages.
The standard weight status categories associated with BMI ranges for adults are shown in the following table.
BMI | Weight Status |
---|---|
Below 18.5 | Underweight |
18.5 – 24.9 | Normal or Healthy Weight |
25.0 – 29.9 | Overweight |
30.0 and Above | Obese |
We havent had anyone under 70 who didnt have a very high BMI, or was pre or diabetic, get seriously ill, he said. This is amazing stuff.
I’m not sure how to decipher this...
So they’re saying that the drugs did not help patients under 70 that were obese or had diabetes/pre-diabetes?
It seems to contradict the headline.

“He is paid to prolong problems, not solve them.”
Probably not it. It’s probably more like “Underpromise and overdeliver”. The Enemedia pounced on Trump’s optimism and countered with gloom and doom which caused the Democrats to ramp up their “Trump caused this pandemic” narrative
Hey now, I’m not fat - I’m fluffy,
The way I understood his statement was that one group had people under the age of 70 that was filled with diabetics, pre-diabetics, and people who had very high BMIs. None of those people got sick enough to need intubation. They were all in a high risk group. Thats why he ended with, this is amazing stuff.
