Actually, Trump dapped the bait and Biden’s folks are nibbling...when dealing with Biden, the more exposure he gets, the better to kick his butt.
Sure there is. The call will be recorded. It will be plain for all to see that emperor Biden has no clothes (I know thats a visual you probably could have done without).
This would be a political blunder for any other incumbent President.
Conventional wisdom states that a one-on-one “summit” with a challenger only lends stature to the challenger.
A “summit” cancels the inherent advantages of incumbency by giving the two rivals the appearance of equal standing.
This would normally be true, but Donald Trump is not a normal politician. He has proved this time and again.
The character assassination of Donald Trump by the ABCNNBCBS fake news media monopoly has been so relentless, so thorough, and so profoundly successful, that they have made Donald Trump the most under appreciated man in the world.
This means that ANY direct and unfiltered exposure to the public benefits him politically. The fake news media has so lowered public expectations of who Donald Trump is, that he ALWAYS exceeds expectations.
To see or hear Donald Trump speak is to find him better than you were led to believe (unless you are already a diehard Trump supporter).
I think this is even true of rabid Trump haters.
When they are forced to watch him, I imagine them keeping score - silently cheering when they think he is being clumsy or “unpresidential”, but cursing under their breath when they realize that with every word he says, he is demonstrating that he is clearly not the evil man they try to portray him as, and that his America First message is connecting with the American people.
That is why they don’t do live coverage of his rallies, his SOTU speech, his press briefings...
Think about it - the fake news media always used to want White House press briefings - they demanded more live access because they thought of it as an opportunity to trip up a Republican POTUS on live TV, to ask “gotcha” questions, to tear at his flesh and have a media feeding frenzy.
But with President Trump all that has changed - they are talking about not covering his press briefings - because he constantly turns the tables on them.
IF (and it’s a big “if”) the Biden campaign let’s him go through with it, President Trump will eat Joe Biden’s lunch, and come up smelling like roses.
