The Pentagon is looking into providing an additional 100,000 military-style body bags for civilian use, as the expected death toll from the coronavirus outbreak continues to rise.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has requested 100,000 body bags, officially called human remains pouches, and the Pentagon is looking to buy more body bags, as it dips into its stockpile of 50,000, Bloomberg reports. The request went through the Defense Logistics Agency, which oversees the distribution of the Pentagon's body bag stockpile.
The Defense Department has already sent to two Navy hospital ships to New York and Los Angeles to help relieve pressure on hospitals inundated with coronavirus patients.
On Tuesday, the White House coronavirus task force warned the country that as many as 240,000 Americans could die from COVID-19, even with the country continuing to enforce social distancing until the end of April.

With 4,000 dead already we only have 96,000 more deaths to go. That’s a lot of dying before lockdown lifts April 30.
I thought I'd heard the exact same thing before! I couldn't remember if it was during H1N1 or Katrina or which disaster coverage.
You base that on?
right? always with the body bag bullshit
This is kind of interesting.
The first vid shows a guy recording a convoy of Humvee that is actually pretty big, he said he was passing them for 20 minutes and they extended out of camera range in front of him.
At the rate he was passing them (4 per minute) and what was still out in front a little rough math results in about 200 vehicles.
The video right underneath that is a train with about 45 flatbed rail-cars with about 4 Humvee and military trucks on each car for a rough total of 160.
Both of them were, according to the person doing the recording, heading to Chicago.
John Hopkins website indicates the are getting hit hard in Chicago with 6,980 confirmed and 95 dead.
A 200 vehicle convoy is a pretty serious deployment and you have to factor in for the 2 that were recorded there were probably 2 more that were not recorded so that is a guesstimate of 700 - 800 vehicles.
Average in 3 troops per vehicle that is 2400, just for Chicago?

And he is basing that on?
Not sure. He mentioned the statistics in a press conference. I would guess the number of cases reported by each state’s health department and multiply that by the infectious ratio which is 2.5. Each person infects 2.5 people in 2 weeks so I guess you can make an estimate off that.
Oh good..because of the thread subject I was thinking...well...you know..:)
What a pile of shiitte.
“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were 2,813,503 registered deaths in the United States in 2017. The age-adjusted death rate, which accounts for the aging population, is 731.9 deaths per 100,000 people in the U.S. This is an increase of 0.4% over 2016’s death rate.”- Some Web Source

Do you think another 100,000 really makes a difference in the body bag supply and demand curve?
LOL!!!
In HS, our local funeral directors son was nicknamed “Digger”
(Let’s hope I’m not needed for mass graves)
As long as they start with the Democrats, I’m OK with this.
I seem to remember a similar headline just before Desert Storm ...
During WW II in anticipation of the invasion of Japan and a estimated 500,000 casualties they ordered something like 500,000 Purple Hearts. Guess what they are still using that stash today.
They used those bags too..for towelheads...
REALLY!! lol!!
Today, it was predicted that Missouri will see 1200 dead; we have 14 dead so far.
We will see.
Actually it was 8 - 10 per minute.
I don't know where that 4 came from.
.
We are 3 months into this and USA deaths are now 5099.
Many reports are saying the Malaria drug is working.
Most people are alone in their houses.
I don’t believe deaths are going to shoot way, way up.
No problem.
Didn’t the leftards demand the US military source 100,000 body bags at the start of the Iraq War?
I’ll bet most of them are still in some warehouse.
