All New York City playgrounds will be shut down to prevent the spread of the coronavirus on orders of Gov. Andrew Cuomo — supplanting Mayor Bill de Blasio, who has resisted mass closures.
“I’ve talked about this for weeks,” said a fed-up Cuomo in an Albany press conference. “I warned people.”
Cuomo noted that he’s been in touch with City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, “who feels very strongly about this and did from day one,” as well as de Blasio.

This wasn’t done before????
They had told people here that playgrounds were closed. But... families with kids still went and played on the playground equipment, and nosy folks complained. So our city put yellow tape on and around all the swings, slides, etc., making it impossible to use the equipment. Maybe next they can use flamethrowers to stop pesky kids.
Probably waiting for... Trump to do it, blame Trump for not doing it, blame Trump for doing it, etc.
I would be willing to bet NYPD is ignoring any orders from deBlasio.

Cuomo has placed restrictions and limited access to hydroxychloroquine for ordinary New Yorkers for outpatient treatment if they develop a presumptive diagnosis of CIVID-19. Wish someone would ask him if somehow ,someway, his brother Chris has this drug and is now being treated with the hydroxychloroquine/Zithromax regimen. If he is hopefully he will recover from his COVID-19 infection. However other New Yorkers who are denied this regimen after having the presumptive diagnosis of COVID-19 with fever and cough, then go on to develop respiratory failure and die, their survivors will have a real grievance with Governor Cuomo.

The playgrounds in Omaha, NE were closed down at least last week, if not before. That is crazy that NY has NOT closed them down before now.
??? Stupid is as stupid does, it seems.
My suburban city did this a week or more ago.
