U.S. stocks are poised to start a new quarter on a grim note Wednesday, with futures markets tanking after President Trump told the country to prepare for “a hell of a bad two weeks” as deaths from the novel coronavirus accelerate.
“Stock investors are starting the second quarter bracing for a tsunami of terrible news on the health and economic fronts of the war against the virus,” Ed Yardeni, president of Yardeni Research, told The Washington Post. “The White House warned yesterday that the number of deaths will rise sharply over the next two weeks. The next batch of economic indicators will undoubtedly show rapidly rising job losses and falling economic activity.

Just the news is so manicured to advance an agenda. Some people get that - most do not.
Anyone going out to buy real estate, house , etc , contaminated by Cov-19 previous occupant(s)? Something the Wilson racket hasn’t thought of yet.
More and more it looks like we are watching a version of “into the woods” play out. My wife and I avoided any kind of panic buying. We’ve decided to move up our costco run to today. the reason is simple: Governments are narrowing down the list of “critical” businesses and it’s looking like the panic over this will be what kills us. We’re in the sticks and can do fine, as long as we have basic staples. So we’ll get those, and then sit back and watch the precious snowflake generation destroy western civilization around the urban areas.

In the near future, two teenage sisters, Nell and Eva, live in a remotely located home with their father, Robert. There is a massive, continent-wide power outage that appears to be part of a region-wide technological collapse. Nell goes to the SUV to get the headlamp but fails to close the tailgate. The car battery is drained, so they are left stranded for days. A few weeks later, Robert gets the car working and they make it to the nearest town where they buy supplies including gas from a man named Stan who’s guarding his store. Later, Eva attends dance class while her sister meets up with Eli, a boy she has a crush on. Returning home, they see a stranded car and the girls’ father offers to help the passengers, but after they brandish guns the family move on. Robert says they will not return to town until the power is restored, but Nell, wanting to see Eli again, throws a fit at this news. Later, while Robert is cutting down a tree, a bolt on the chainsaw comes loose and he accidentally slashes his leg. The girls hear his screams and run to find him, Eva attempts to hold pressure on the wound while Nell uses a belt as a tourniquet. Knowing he is bleeding to death, Robert tells the girls to take care of each other and love one another. They stay with his body throughout the night, while animals are lingering in the darkness. The next day they bury him where he died in the forest so the wild pigs cannot eat him.
Two months pass and the girls are low on food. Eli arrives one night, having walked there looking for Nell. He says the surrounding houses are abandoned. Eva is upset that Eli is there using their limited supplies and tells Nell not to get pregnant. After Nell and Eli sleep together in Nell’s fort in a giant hollowed-out tree trunk in the forest, he says there may still be power and order in Boston. He convinces Nell to go with him. They leave but Eva refuses to go with them. After spending the night sitting awake on the road while Eli sleeps, Nell turns back, unwilling to leave Eva. Nell researches plants for food and medicine, and forages. Nell then has a night of celebration when she confirms she is not pregnant after her tryst with Eli. One day while Nell is in the forest foraging, Eva is surprised by Stan while she is splitting logs outside the house. He assaults and rapes her before stealing most of the remaining gas and their SUV. The girls board up the house to prevent further scavengers and looters from arriving, and Eva stays indoors. Traumatized, Eva lies in bed, refusing to eat. A few weeks later Nell gets injured trying to move an embedded rock, and Eva rushes out to help her. Back inside Eva begins to massage Nell’s back to help her heal but breaks down sobbing and tells Nell she’s drowning under black waves of fear. The next morning Eva finally eats but starts throwing up, and soon realizes she is pregnant as a result of her rape. To Nell’s surprise, Eva has decided to keep the baby, saying that she doesn’t want to lose anything else.
Eight months later, the power still has not been restored. Nell is taking care of the heavily-pregnant Eva and learns how to hunt and kill animals to get Eva vitamin B12 because Eva is anemic. During a bad rain storm, several beams of the roof break and Eva goes into labor. The sisters flee for Nell’s hollowed-out tree stump fort, where Eva gives birth to a baby boy. Returning to their ruined home, Eva (who won the rest of the gas in a bet on the baby’s sex), decides to burn down the house so that anyone passing will think that they had died in a fire. Before setting the house ablaze, they collect a few precious items and keepsakes, and begin to walk into the darkened forest to set up camp at the hollow tree trunk.
But there was no reason for the President to say prepare for a hell of a bad few weeks.
It doesn’t even sound like something he’d say.
We all know what’s going on.

Federal purchasing of ventilator components would allow ventilator companies to ramp up production faster. A company normally selling 150 units a month won’t risk buying parts for 5,000 units a month, but to avoid 5,000 deaths the federal government should take the risk.
More doom and gloom from the merchants who have been peddling it since the get go. Well, at least since impeachment ended.

Most do. Most people I know have stopped watching it. And I live in NJ where people are not conservative. Most people around me are mad at the media.
This is a classic garbage in, garbage out situation.
The ChiComs have been lying about this since day one. There is not a single scrap of data coming from them that I’d trust.
The CDC was asleep at the switch. Their primary job is tracking and analyzing emerging disease, and they blew it bigtime.
So Trump then went to his experts, who have to rely on modeling to try and figure out what is going on. Since the data on this was so crappy and incomplete they had to start making a number of assumptions.
And the actual outcome can vary greatly depending on how accurate those assumptions turn out to be.
So they are hedging their bets by tending towards a worst-case scenario. If you listen closely to Fauci he’s actually equivocated on that point quite a bit.

Viruses are all around us. It would be good if we all turned off the TV and tried to get over our virus derangement syndrome.
