The unprecedented global pandemic that knows no borders should be a clear lesson for all of us of how interconnected and interdependent we all are, as a human community, and how small our already frail planet has become in the era of globalization. Diversity & Inclusion would like to salute all of youadministrators, faculty, staff, and of course, our studentsfor your resilience and strength, whether at the frontlines, physically or virtually, in services and in the classroom. We also want to remind ourselves that as in all human experiences, the pandemic has not impacted all communities equally. Many communities are not only more exposed but more vulnerable than others, whether on income levels, nationality, emigration status and other.
Diversity & Inclusion would like to remind you to let us know of any incident taking place, university-wide, at the Hate and Bias Reporting site, https://www.unr.edu/bias-reporting. On the other hand, we also want to remind you that as it has been stated elsewhere, not everything is on lock-down: learning continues, creativity continues, community continues, and more than ever, solidarity continues and is vitally needed!
Be well!

For those who do not know...
COVID-19 “Patient Zero” in the USA was a “person” who flew directly into Sea-Tac Airport from - wait for it - Wuhan, China!
Patient Zero's age, gender, ethnicity, immigration status, employment, etc., has never been revealed.
the pandemic has not impacted all communities equally.
Pandemic be raciss.
Never, ever trust a woman with a hyphenated last name.
This woman needs to study world history. She doesn't even need to go back to Ancient Civilizations. The Middle Ages would do. Plagues and pandemics have existed as long as humans. Bonus question: quess where the bubonic plague began.
Italy. (I had China, but looked it up) Nancy Pelosi’s ancestors’ hometown?
According to Encyclopedia Britanica online, it began in China. Then, it traveled along the Silk Road to Italy and thereafter spread, through trading, throughout most of the world. You were right the first time.
