Stress, for example, is known to be major factor in six of the leading causes of death in the country. Work-related stress alone is believed to cause 120,000 deaths each year. As people see their savings disappear, their businesses shutter, their lives turned upside down, stress will increase phenomenally. And that will ultimately lead to more stress-related deaths....

If they don’t publish these figures instead of what they are publishing.. they are using this for a gain in whatever they have their fingers in.
I wanted to see some figures like this... what they are doing is pushing their agenda.. and we are holed up in our homes because some will go out and spread it in spite of all the warnings...
Still... they are pushing numbers that are not reality... and it should be noted.

Very misleading at best. There are almost 140,000 active cases of COVID-19 “of those who have been tested.” There’s probably 10’s of thousands more.
The death toll in the U.S. is now close to 3,000... and we’ll never know if that is actually what killed them or if it was an underlying condition that helped kill them or they were going to die anyway.
The numbers being throw out are irrelevant. They’re meant to show the American people something is being done but in reality it’s nothing more than a guessing game.
7700 people die every day? That seems high - 8% of our population annually.
If we could just implement permanent work-from-home orders, we could save thousands of lives in auto-accident deaths. If we could bring back prohibition, we could save many more from alcohol-related deaths and drunk-driving deaths. We could ban bathtubs and swimming pools to save drowning deaths. This never has to end. There will always be more lives to save!
7700 X 365 = 2,810,500.
That is much less than one percent even if illegals are not counted.

Also, years ago the Rockland County, NY Historical Society reprinted the death records from the Coroner’s Office from a 2 week period in the 1880s. Few people lived past 60, most dying from pneumonia, tuberculosis, malaria, what particularly sad was all the children who passed from things like scarlet fever, and whooping cough. Chinese flu is serious, but we gotta put it in perspective.
I would like the news everyday to compare the common cold / flu / chinese virus.
This is not about deaths. It is about reducing the peak of the number hospitalized.
People’s stress levels are really going to go up in the next couple weeks as spring allergies set in and they worry that their stuffy nose, goopy eyes, and cough are not from allergies.
That in turn is affected by replacement numbers-births, legal immigrations, etc.

You’re off by a factor of 10. 8% of 320,000,000 is 25.6 million. 7700 deaths per day would be just a hair over 2.8 million, or about 0.8%, which seems reasonable.

If 7700 people die every day in the US,
that is 2.8 million a year,
and 0.8 %, not 8% of our population of 320 million.

Well, if you're too chicken to say it, I'll say it. The coronavirus is not a serious threat and does not require extraordinary measures.
