The Texas Roadhouse where I am seems to be doing a brisk take out business.
They will get some of my dine-in business when things return to ‘normal’ FOR SURE
Wow. That’s a damned Good guy.
We eat there a lot.
We’ll eat there even MORE now.
We love our local Texas Roadhouse.
Let’s contrast this to how Bezos is treating his Whole Foods employees - or his own Amazon employees.
A very decent act for sure.
We have one near us and patronize it often. The rolls are fantastic. Mrs. L is a bit of an addict.
LOL.
L
Nooooooo kiddin’. Dr. Evil.
Drove by there yesterday, and they seem to have a system where you can pull in the parking lot, give an employee your order. That gets passed on to the cooks inside, and they bring it out to you. Don't have to get out of the car.
The good guys have a chance to shine. He did.
The chain employs 56,000. His 1.8 million salary/bonus divided by that number is $32 per employee. Am I missing something?
We take out from Texas Roadhouse all the time. Their steaks are a great value. Beef is good quality at a reasonable cost.
Maybe he is aiming to make a larger rhetorical point and to shame other CEO’s.
Perhaps. Haven’t seen Jeff Bezos stepping up to the plate. W. Kent Taylor’s salary is Bezo’s wine budget.
Hope they survive, because I want to go eat there. Will check on take out, too.
Noting companies that are stepping up, as well as the losers, for when we come out of this.
No, you are not. But the gesture is nice.
“The chain employs 56,000. His 1.8 million salary/bonus divided by that number is $32 per employee. Am I missing something?”
Just guessing but maybe going to key performers like district Managers maybe or key store managers...Maybe divided into a much much smaller number.
Yes, you are missing something big, a gift given in the spirit of kindness and generosity toward those people who are the face of the company.
I agree that it is a kind gesture, but rather ineffectual and as a result, a mere token. It would better to donate his salary to buying PPEs for the healthcare providers who are on the front lines, bravely fighting this virus.
Are they truly lacking money to buy them, or just lacking supply of the items temporarily?
