Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan issued a stay-at-home order on Monday.
We have reached a critical turning point in the fight to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Republican said during a news conference. We are no longer asking or suggesting that Marylanders stay at home. We are directing them to do so.
No Maryland resident should be leaving their home unless it is for an essential job or an essential reason, Hogan said, adding that buying food and medical reasons are exempt.
Violating the order is a misdemeanor subject to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine, Hogan said.
The order goes into effect Monday at 8 p.m.
As of March 30, more than half of states will have stay-at-home orders in effect: Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

No longer going to see people walking their dogs so they can poop???
I suppose Virginia is not far behind.
Even though Baltimore's news talk station's website (wbal.com) is being scooped on this right now (but not baltimoresun.com).

Interesting.
PING
8pm tonight, enjoy the last few hours of freedom while you can
Didn’t the ‘stay at home’ thing start on the 15th? That’s what’s going on out here? I think we’re like, done today or tomorrow.
I have a better idea. How about fat bastard Hogan FURLOUGH our state employees WITHOUT pay!! The whole state would be open in 24 hours after that announcement.
What about home depot and lowes..is your house suppose to fall in disrepair becuase of wuhan flu
You will have to take your dog to the supermarket and walk it in the parking lot. It will be like San Francisco except without the scenery.
What I want to know is whether I’m risking a fine if I ride my bike up the C&O Canal or the Anacostia Trail, or drive up to Antietam to walk around the battlefield.
That was a request to stay at home.
But people were going to parks to walk in pretty good numbers this past weekend.
This is an order with a threat of a fine.
When CA did it they told people to NOT call the police when they saw someone outside.
Can we cut our lawns?
Good comeback!
From what I’ve read over the past year or so, this command from the state’s petty tyrant shouldn’t have a big impact on most people in “Charm City” as most already live under “regular” house arrest ... though this “shelter-in-place” version of house arrest will be new to a few who will blindly acquiesce to it in their wide-eyed hysteria.
Well, isn’t that a bit of liberal totalitarianism. They claim they are not but they are.
Which is the excuse EVERYONE will use.
Anyone wanna bet the “over/under” before Baltimore goes up in flames?
Does anybody know if Hogan’s order allows for outdoor exercise, or will I have to run a marathon by scampering back and forth between the living room and the kitchen?
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
