The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to BARDA to allow hydroxychloroquine sulfate and chloroquine phosphate products donated to the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) to be distributed and prescribed by doctors to hospitalized teen and adult patients with COVID-19, as appropriate, when a clinical trial is not available or feasible.

...when a clinical trial is not available or feasible.... Hell, use of Hydroxychloroquine OUTSIDE of formal trials to treat COVID-19 will, itself, be the LARGEST CLINICAL TRIAL THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN!
God bless and protect President Trump!
“God bless and protect President Trump!”
indeed!
Thanks for linking to the HHS press release.
30,000,000 doses sent to the stockpile and many more expected.
Great news! Trump cuts red tape
Love this!! Thank you Mr. President!!!!!
This is fantastic news!
New York State will just put them into storage along with the ventilators.
If this treatment works even 50% of the time when it’s prescribed, things will look very different by Easter. Prayers for the health, strength, and protection of our President.
Make America Healthy Again! TRUMP 2020
I wrote about this yesterday....that what should happen next is that these drugs should be distributed to pharmacies across the country....with restrictions....so that when this voluntary quarantine is lifted, the drugs are available to every doctor in every Town in the Country and we can nip any resurgence.
I'm still laughing over 'Punxsutawney Phil'!
Praying for a Easter miracle!
Thanks for pinging to this!

My view of it is just a little different than yours. I think we should drop the quarantine and let the virus run through the population while immediately treating symptomatic people with the drug combo to limit hospitalizations (and future ventilator patients).
We could start right away in several areas where hospitals aren’t already dealing with too many cases. Just send supplies to pharmacies in a county or state and drop the quarantines, while maintaining sensible hand washing and distancing. Then watch the progress as people are treated. If it works, repeat elsewhere.
We would rapidly reach herd immunity that way, which will be necessary before we open up the nursing homes again.
I agree with you on that front and worry that those that would have had a mild case are now susceptible to a hit by a few stragglers. On the other hand, if we have the meds available, we should be able to nip it.
