Prolongation of QT is very rare with these drugs - particularly hydroxychloroquine.
They give it to people who travel to Africa as a preventative drug.
No prescription drug is without side effects or issues. For that matter, no OTC drug is either.
When you need either bad enough, you take it and risk the side effects.

My 82 y.o. mother has arrhythmia and RA. She has been taking hydroxychloroquine for the RA for 5 years with no ill effects (including no retinal issues, another side effect of LONG TERM us). This is 5 days of treatment, and unlikely to do anything more serious than cause nausea or diarrhea in 99.99% if patients in that time frame. There are other drugs to fix arrhythmia, not so much for CV, which can be life-threatening and also have possible permanent and serious health issues.
