The Food and Drug Administration on Sunday issued an emergency use authorization for hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, decades-old malaria drugs championed by President Donald Trump for coronavirus treatment despite scant evidence.
The agency allowed for the drugs to be "donated to the Strategic National Stockpile to be distributed and prescribed by doctors to hospitalized teen and adult patients with COVID-19, as appropriate, when a clinical trial is not available or feasible," HHS said in a statement, announcing that Sandoz donated 30 million doses of hydroxychloroquine to the stockpile and Bayer donated 1 million doses of chloroquine.

I’m not sure how well the drug works- I think folks who end up getting really sick end up still on respirators for a number of days, but recover- most will be fine, and only get mild symptoms for sure- but it’s those who are prone to illnesses that wont’ fare so well- a big part of the workforce is elderly- usually with medical conditions of some kind-
I think that a lot of folks are gonna be exposed once they lift all the stupid shelter inplace orders- we’re just delaying the inevitable by making everyone stay at home- I guess it —might— make sense but ONLY IF it was for a very short time while they created a vaccine, then everyone could get back to work as usual after getting the shots- but still- even then- not keen on shutting down a country especially when a vaccine is so far away=-
What you state may or may not be true. Even if true. And, I don’t know what evidence there is to back it up. It is irrelevant.
Laura’s late-night show doesn’t have anywhere near the exposure or the IMPACT of President Trump’s Prime-Time pressers. Nearly no one knows what she said.
But, many many 100’s of MILLIONS know what President Trump has said about that drug combo. And, because he touted it early on, the entire democrat party/media complex has mobilized to demonize this solution every minute of every hour since.

The media is rooting for this drug to fail. No surprise since they want this President to fail and ultimately the counry to fail.

Even folks at death’s door are recovering from what we’ve been reading- they go to sleep thinking they will be dead by morning, then they wake up and it’s night and day- Not sure everyone is like that- but have read a couple of testimonials about this already- and docs doing studies have said they have a near 100% success rate- I think some i n the trials must have been close to death too- but who knows -maybe they were4 all early stage sufferers- the articles weren’;t too specific-
Remdesivir is potentially even better than the HCQ/Zpack combo. It’s produced by the Israeli pharmaceutical Gilead, who produced “tamiflu” during the sars epidemic. However since it’s fairly new, remdesivir is in clinical trial and only a limited amount is available for compassionate use currently.
The elderly patients that died had age and probably health conditions against them. Maybe remdesivir or the HCQ/Zpack combo given early enough, could save many other patients.

So states that are running trials won’t let everyone get it? and only allow those in the trials to get it? This is unconscionable- immoral- I think the president needs to step in and tell states that are demanding people in in clinical trials before they can get it that they can no longer demand that only people in the trials can get the drugs- We can still run the clinical trials while ALSO giving everyone access to the drugs who need it-
You know how hard it is to get into clinical trials? Very is the answer- people have to meet certain criteria in order to even be considered- and folks will die while waitin to be chosen- it’s a long process because these trials are so specific, and they need to cover themselves legally to allow folks in etc- you don’t usually just go in and say you wanna be a part, and get admitted that day-
You’re correct. But, among those that heard President Trump is Democrat Governors who subsequently have issued edicts telling doctors in their states Not to dispense the drug for this virus.
The French research scientist that first published findings of the effectiveness of that drug combo has recently stated that it is IMMORAL in his opinion to not administer this drug combo to Wuhan Flu victims.
He further stated that the current protocol of waiting until the victims are Critical is a huge mistake. He stated that the drug combo should be administered as soon as the virus is confirmed for the best survival rate.
Yet, we have certain democrat governors threatening the licenses of doctors in their states if they prescribe that drug if the victim isn’t on deaths doorstep.
Let’s hope Trump was correct. I know a guy in his 60s who was going downhill at Jamaica Hospital. He has been on a ventilator and kidneys failing and blood oxy was low. HCQ was introduced three days ago. Still on ventilator but kidney function improved and blood oxy improved. Good news but no miracle cure like the supposed cures by the Dr in Rockland County. Let’s just pray for the best.

Your right. Laura Ingraham really has pushed to have this used. A Bible study friend of a patient that had heard it on Laura Ingraham Program was instrumental in getting a Dr. to use it and it was miraculous for him. He talked to Laura on the show before he was released from the hospital. Go Laura... Go President Trump!!!
For some, the recovery is very slow. I also know someone who has been on a vent for maybe 10 days now. They gave him HCQ, and he’s expected to recover, say the doctors. This is in a Canadian hospital. I think a lot depends on age, underlying health conditions, timing and dosage of medicines.
I’m all for HCQ/Zpack or any other medicine but there isn’t a 100% effective ‘silver bullet’ in the battle against the coronavirus just yet.
