Zinc Picolinate. Gluconate and the others are not bioavailable. I have a supply I was able to secure but it is sold out everywhere. There are studies showing of all the zinc supplements only picolinate supplementation increases blood and hair levels. I am not the only one that knows this. Like I said, it is sold out everywhere.

HCQ may allow cell uptake of gluconic or feritic zinc. I am supplementing with picolinate because it does get into cells. Hair cells at the very least, but there is no reason to believe it does not get into all cells boosting intracellular zinc levels.

The leading theory of how HCQ works is it opens a pathway into the cells allowing zinc to get into the cells and zinc interrupts viral replication. Zinc picolinate opens its own pathway into the cells.

This virus scared the crap out of me and I got to speed reading academic white papers on immunity and immune response to virii.

Additionally what I found:

Take vitamin D3. Studies show a lower incidence and less severity for pulmonary viral and bacterial infections. (20% reduction overall and 70% in deficient people in a 10,000 participant study) Caltrate at the recommended dose provides the amount that was studied. Being the sun vitamin, almost everyone is deficient in winter. This spring, get your tan on!! D3 is critically involved in the construction and repair of cell walls so I see a reason for this to be valid.

I was reading somewhere last week that Licorice root (ancient Chinese secret?) is supportive of Respiratory and digestive function. So I added that into my regimen along with a multi vitamin with 100% DV of zinc (it is zinc oxide and probably not the right kind) Vitamin D3 and a mega vitamin C tablet. Unfortunately of numerous bottles of multi vitamins that we have none of them contain Zinc picolinate. Just oxide and citrate variety.

the zinc in Zicam is listed as ‘zincum acedicum’ and ‘zincum gluconicum’. When absorbed sub lingual (under the tongue) these have a high bioavailability. Thanks for your post-ping. Be well

All the sources I have tried are out of zinc picolinate. I’m using Zicam sub lingual.
