New York State and in particular, New York City, have been the hardest-hit regions in the U.S. as the country grapples with the coronavirus pandemic. But recent data suggests that the area might be starting to see a turn that infections are slowing.
Farzad Mostashari, the founder of primary care start-up Aledade and the former national coordinator for health information technology at the Dept. of Health and Human Services, tweeted that there "may" be some early signs of promise in recent data.

Pray that this is true and will remain true.
My 7 day moving average of NY cases is in agreement. The NY infection rates are definitely coming down.
If this continues we may have reached an inflection point. But the NY infection rates are still very high. They need to keep coming coming down and that probably means a continuation of the strict social distancing.

Exactly why it's important to ramp up testing as soon as possible so that it is widely available and easy to obtain for everyone.
Majority of them from NY and NJersey....indirectly and otherwise, and Maudi grasse celebration in Louisanna was like setting a Match to a stake of hay.
NY is going down because people left and are still leaving.
The FDA just issued an emergency order calling for 1 million doses to be distributed, they know it works! But you are right, they need to be able to get test results within 45 minutes, NOT every single symptom of something is coronavirus. My 15 yr old cousin was very sick for a week, puking, diarrhea, low grade fever, he got tested and after 5 days of waiting the results were negative
NY had 277 deaths on the 28th, but only 82 on the 29th
US cases were down by 1,000
US deaths went from 525 to 264
Good to see a halt in the rise, even if it’s temporary.
They started the anit-malaria drugs in NYC on Tuesday. I think they said it’s like five days for full effects. Timing is right.
A lot of these huge clusters would not exist but for unwise behavior. The New Orleans mayor blamed President Trump for their own stupidity saying because he didn’t tell them that was a bad idea during a pandemic. Seriously - you can’t make this stuff up.
Gee, imagine that
WhattaSurprise, eh?
Guv Whitless, your response (if any)?
Which is about a thousand lower in absolute terms than the previous day and also significantly lower in terms of percent increase. That number would seem to confirm what this article is saying. Its one day, though, so it could be noise, but the decline in growth rate has been happening for a week or so now, so thats a definite trend.
Another article described “coronavirus parties” in NYC, the purpose of which seems to be to spread it as much as possible. If that becomes widespread, then all efforts to contain Covid-19 in NYC are futile. Any trend of decreasing growth is in serious trouble.
No way. Fauci the Great says no. Projections indicate we may need to be in lockdown until at least May of 2021. But dont hold me to that.
We’re testing only people with symptoms. Of course the numbers are going to go up. It’s how many of these will be hospitalized and/or die that matters.
I saw a video on Facebook of a NYC hospital where nobody was outside, at entrances, on sidewalks, etc. Looked pretty tame.
Why do you guys read anything about NY and believe it? :)
NO ONE is having a coronavirus party that I know and i know a lot of people.
MOST of us haven’t gone anywhere but to the store.
Thank God it’s slowing down.
And thanks for the prayers for all of us here in NY
Thanks from NY here for the prayers.
Right now about 1/2 of 1 percent have it on Staten Island.
I’d love for it to not go much higher.
And for that anti malarial to crush this thing within a month.
Only in America can you have an abundance at a supermarket during a pandemic.
We even got 24 rolls of toilet tissue delivered from amazon yesterday :)
To all the farmers and cattle raisers out there, thank you!!
God Bless America and Trump and FR!
I get all my real NYC news from you. :)
