Trump Announces CDC's Social Distancing Guidelines Have Been Extended

At a coronavirus task force briefing on Sunday, President Trump announced the social distancing guidelines aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus will be extended to April 30th.

"We will be extending our guidelines to April 30th to slow the spread," Trump said Sunday in the Rose Garden.

The extension was announced after the president said the peak death rate in the United States for the coronavirus is expected to hit in two weeks, according to models of the virus.

"Nothing would be worse than declaring victory before the victory is won," Trump said. "That would be the greatest loss of all. Therefore, the next two weeks and during this period, it's very important that everyone strongly follow the guidelines."

President Trump encouraged Americans to "strongly follow the guidelines" on social distancing, adding, "The better you do, the faster this whole nightmare will end."

Trump had previously stated a goal of opening the country up by Easter, April 12th. When asked about the Easter timeline by a reporter on Sunday, Trump said the goal was "just an aspiration," but one that had to be extended based on the incoming data.

The president said the administration's latest plans a summary of the taskforce's findings will be announced on Tuesday.

“We will be extending our guidelines to April 30 to slow the spread. On Tuesday, we will be finalizing these plans and providing a summary of our findings."

"We can expect that by June 1 we will be well on our way to recovery." pic.twitter.com/5wJgD6v90w— Breaking911 (@Breaking911) March 29, 2020

This cannot go beyond April! Thank god I’m able to get out and run and hike in Central PA though. It’s the only thing saving me

Couldn’t help but noticed there was one word never mentioned. Not even uttered. Drugs.

I was in a pretty good mood all day today. After hearing this a few minutes ago, it’s really difficult for me to have any hope for the future of this nation.

By all means, take all the money I’ve worked for all my life, and lock me down for who knows how many more weeks and months.

I might be done.

Another freaking month?

How many people will be out of work and how many businesses will be closed for good by then?

People can’t go for 6 weeks without work.

And how many more stimulus packages will get passed in 4 more weeks?

It’ll go beyond that. They just don’t want to shock everyone.

The UK is already talking June/July.

Economy is dead. It’ll take a generation to rebuild it. We’ll be looking at 30% unemployment by May.

NAZI Pelosi mentioned another “stimulus” package to include more of her priorities.

This is not good...

They’ll use this to pass another stimulus. $1200 isn’t going to cut it til April 30. That will mean my small biz will be shut down for almost 1 1/2 months. Jeez

They should probably say that they’re waiting for the number of new cases to go down below replacement rate, whenever that happens. Then they wouldn’t blame Trump as much.

Don't let it get you down. There is still hope, especially when Trump gets re-elected as President. Take a vacation from watching bad news, it still isn't as bad as it was for previous generations (Great Depression, Dust-Bowl, WWII etc.). Don't be sad!
