This is a "ventilator. They get about $200 bucks each for them. There are millions of these in hospitals, ambulances and clinics. Only drawback is that it requires someone to squeeze the bag... .
You know - one thing this whole event has shown is that there are some pretty stupid people hanging out on this site and voting (R). Pretty freaking scary-almost as scary as those that vote straight party (L).
And apparently lost IQ points.
Interestingly, NOT made in China (we presume):

Fair enough... wear and tear and all. But in a pinch...? America is full of brilliant and clever minded people - just look at all the progress in the last week. New diagnostic equipment, ingenious plans to expand ventilators with a simple Y hose, and many experienced scientists and doctors whipping up what seem to be fairly effective drug regimens. President Trump unleashed the power of the private sector from the shackles of slow, myopic and self-serving regulation of federal bureaucrats to wage war against this Communist viral epidemic. There’s no going back now, I hope. First we kill this virus, then we drain the swamp.
OK then... add an airplane neck pillow, some rubber tubing, and a lot of duct tape? Hey, I’m still trying!

With millions newly unemployed this should not be a problem.
If you want to infect them, sure!
one way valve.
I can train a housekeeper to sit and squeeze the bag every 5 seconds
I wonder how many of the people they are putting on these that could be just as easily treated with a Nebulizer as only people that normally compromised before they even contracted the disease need ventilators normally.
I am also reading that this virus sometimes triggers asthma symptoms. Maybe they are jumping to the ventilators out of caution but the Nebulizer would normally be indicated for other similar flu cases.
There are plans online to build your own ventilator by using a 3D printer to make most parts, supplemented with some electronics, and downloadable code. The creator posted warnings that it is use at your own risk and is only meant to demonstrate that they can be built at home, but you should use medical facilities. Video of it is impressive.
And since she’s not going to be wearing protective gear, as there isn’t enough for existing medical personnel, she will contract the disease... and need someone else to do that for her, repeating the cycle.
Try to use one for 5 minutes.
LOL!
Dyson is English company but factories are in Malaysia and Singapore.
The face shield is like a gas mask. It fits tightly around the face sealing it. Air is pumped in and then extracted. At first you feel like you are suffocating. But after awhile you get use to it The only discomfort is the tightness of the mask around the face. when you sleep you are restricted in head movement. Best position is flat on your back. I had to use one when I had water buildup on my lungs until the lungs were drained of the fluid. Had fluid drained two times, Once in Jan and the other in Feb of the same year. But they could not drain the lungs completely as they might collapse. This fluid also caused my shortness of breath.
