Trump: I am giving consideration to a QUARANTINE of developing “hot spots”, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. A decision will be made, one way or another, shortly.

Wait a minute-
My family lives in NJ. We are conservatives and Trump supporters.
We obey the laws and ‘shelter in place’ etc. We stay healthy and are coronavirus free. We are inconvenienced to no end but we put up with it. Don’t we deserve your compassion? Why are you freepers doing what the RATS are doing - treat us as bad guys and condemn us?

You are lucky you don’t live in NJ but do you have to throw the baby out with the bath water?

Your daughter will be fine even if she gets exposed. She is young and healthy. There is a ton of media coverage when a young, healthy person dies of Coronavirus - but it is statistically rare. The people dying are mostly very old and very sick. The fact is, around the world,150,000 people die EVERY DAY of non-accidental deaths - mostly very old and very sick. On the other end of the spectrum, around 150,000 people are born every day - all extremely young (🙂) and almost all extremely healthy. It’s the cycle of life. I wonder, when they release Coronavirus death statistics each day, how do they know they are not double counting? How many of the sick and elderly who succumb to Coronavirus on a given day, would have been among the 150,000 deaths normally expected that day, even without Coronavirus? I think it’s hard for people to put these mortality numbers in perspective - but with 8 billion souls on the planet, even the rarest of occurrences can sound shocking. A pandemic is scary, but I assure you - this too shall pass. And we’ll all be better off if we stay calm and keep tho he on perspective. I wish you and your daughter all the best.

Sorry about my last reply - I did use paragraphs - for some reason it got lumped together into one giant paragraph!

A safe bet. And like most Democrats he hasn’t thought of possible repercussions.

How is your daughter still at school? All schools here are cancelled from preschool through university.

Yeah, it’s like landlords are somehow not American working people?!? Often struggling themselves to pay their mortgages and feed their own family.

It’s the smiley that threw off your paragraphs. Kinda hard to explain but the FR forum software will keep your natural formating intact unless it detects that you’re using HTML commands, in which case it will defer to your HTML commands. That smiley emoticon has an HTML command associated with it. By inserting it into your reply the software quit abiding by your natural paragraph spacing and instead started expecting to see < p > commands at the start of new paragraphs. When it didn’t, it just ran everything together.

Developing? I’d say they are past that.

I see very little evidence of any shut-down from my vantage point.

I just saw a Fox News Channel reporter call the Defense Production Act a "Korea War era" law. Are they now trying to discredit its use by President Trump?

How soon will it be that the same reporters who last week challenged Trump with questions about not invoking a national "shelter in place" response to the Covid-19 virus vs. state-by-state individual responses now question a national response as an unconstitutional over-reach of power?

Classes are conducted online. There are some students who, for one reason or another, can’t or shouldn’t go home. They are being allowed to stay in the dorm, but are being moved to one where “social distancing” is maximized (no shared bathrooms, for example).

I was wondering what AC part or component could be removed and then later replaced...
The irony here is that this lowlife tenant used to be an AC repair guy.. who knows
so that would be a costly enough “fix” that he would not want to pay for it? I wondered what part could be removed (& later put back) that would not use elec. nor harm other parts...
Would freon removal strain other parts on the AC unit if left running?

Cite your source information that shows that Lincoln gave any direct order to ravage the south. Reconstruction has nothing to do with what you stated. Reconstruction was after Lincoln and stood in direct opposition to his wishes for bringing the South back into the union.

Unfortunately, for some out there today, the mythology of the lost cause lives today and they won’t seem to let go of history they cannot change.

I’ve studied history and the CW for years, probably more than you have, so cite your references please.

I think it’s a terrible idea. I’ll bet Trump does, too ... but for political reasons he wants that ugly mutant Andrew Cuomo to be the one who comes out publicly and says: “Hell NO!”

Ding, ding, ding. Guess what just happened?
