I have tried.

Four facts.

The baby is a human person. DNA proves that. (Science!)

The baby is a separate person from the mother. DNA proves this. (Science!)

The baby is alive. (Science!)

Killing a person because they are inconvenient is wrong. (universal civilized social conviction)

Do you know what they come back with?

"But does it have a soul?"

I respond that I am not talking metaphysics but objective reality. And in objective reality it is wrong to kill a human baby.

"Yeah, but does it have a soul?"

Every. Single. Time.

Even the atheists who maintain that none of us have souls.
