You believe China because you posted a graph that purports to show, based upon the words at the top of the graph, that the disease is spreading more rapidly than it did in China.
You then admit it is based on officially reported numbers.
You then admit that you can’t trust China.
Then how can you trust it’s official numbers?
Everyone who has access to speak to the public and lied about it to deliberately frighten people MUST be tried and executed. They have ruined millions of people financially.

The problem with this entire situation is that we talk past each other.
It is possible to believe that this virus is a deadly and serious problem that must be dealt with.
It is also legitimate to, at the same time, question the means and measures that are being taken to combat it. We are being asked to flush our liberty down the hole and accept a complete authoritarian regime as a way of life.
I am suspicious of this. I am especially suspicious when some try to talk about an end game and the media and Dems react by saying that there will NEVER be an endgame. Wow, couldn’t see that one coming.

That’s a poor analogy.
One particular government went to an extreme that they never would have if the things they were saying were true. One particular government, with a well known behavior pattern, did something extraordinarily out of character and blatantly lied about it.
That’s what got people’s attention. Then the numbers started coming in. Trump saved thousands of lives by stopping incoming travelers from China as early as he did. It gave us more time to prepare. I wish he had been as prescient regarding the second wave from Europe. And then there was the guy that ignored the Iran travel ban. Started the fire in NYC.
177 countries report confirmed cases of the virus, most with deaths. The other 18 are lying.

Having to stand next to President Trump on a daily basis causes many to start trying to be more reasonable and honest.

And yes, I agree that China was not doing any of that to stop protests. They have that one pretty much mastered without having to lock its citizens down.
Point being, they present numbers to the world that say, “see this wasn’t that bad for us because we are super awesome at containing this.” Their actions and deeds say otherwise.
They do when you post a graph that says:
“The spread in the US is more rapid than China.”

2. Slap back at the west economically.”
Totally agree. The Chinese used a virus to stop protests and Trump. The American left then joined in.

I say this again: it is possible to hold two news here and we are all taking past each other. First, it is possible to believe that this virus is serious. Second, it is possible to hold that belief and still question the manner in which this is being handled.
Consider this: they cancelled ever mass event to prevent the spread, smart. They then proceeded to cause a panic that drove everyone out to the markets, Costco’s, doctors offices, etc. AT THE SAME TIME, thus creating an infinite amount of daily mass events.
How did that make sense?
Those are real words. Projecting, extrapolating possibilities is what makes us stop and look before we cross the street.

The point is to prevent that 30,000.
The Constitution is not a suicide pact, someone once famously said. States have a lot of rights and that is where most of the decisions are being made. Much of this is not even remotely a Constitutional issue. And the part you are complaining hardest about has been and is being addressed by the method the rest of your complaints are about.

Bogus argument.
The graph is of reported numbers. It actually argues on its own that the numbers from China are fake. Travis is not responsible for China’s numbers, nor the arbiter of their honesty, and he says as much.
Each line on the graph stands on its own. Pick the ones YOU believe are based on honest data - but in any case, Travis is not responsible for whether those numbers are true.
I don’t believe Chinas numbers. I think there were a lot more dead in China than they admit. Does that mean that when I quote China’s numbers I am somehow the one lying when I expressly say the numbers from China are unreliable? So do we just omit China from the conversation entirely? I bet Winnie and the Panda brigade would be happy with that.
