I’m in the food growing business. Last I checked we were all still working 100 percent. You will get your food, but now we will all pay more.

Now that we all know the outcome, it was a totally symbolic act that took up about three minutes of the time of the House of Representatives. Pelosi and minority leader Kevin McCarthy worked together to make sure there was a 216 member quorum of Republicans and Democrats in the chamber and had them sit spaced apart so that there was social distance throughout the chamber, gallery and balcony.
Massie’s motion for a recorded vote died for lack of second, his call for a quorum count was heeded and a quorum was ruled present and the bill was passed on a voice vote.
Members then headed back home and the president signed the bill into law about two hours later.

I couldn’t agree more!

I am so tired of these libertarians like Rand Paul who stand on their principles, but never accomplish anything.

That bill was as good as it was going to get with a Democrat House, and I fully support the President on wanting to throw Massie out of office.

Exactly, Nancy Pelosi intervened before the Senate voted but after they agreed on the trillion + package. She had already recessed the House sending members home. She butted in and convinced Chuck Schumer to demand too much spending unrelated to the corona virus.
I agree with Rep.Thomas Massie. House members should be voting in person to pass or reject this enormous bill. I think there should have been a recorded vote as well. Rep.Massie is a hero to me.

He picked a very bad time cry...when the entire society is faced with an existential crisis from the nearly complete shutdown of the pre-eminent economy in the world. A nation can not survive that. It is like the entire country had a massive heart attack and is in a coma. This situation is both unprecedented and terminal unless corrected by emergency means...and even then you are only buying time.

Massie’s protest was ridiculous in its futility. And it was I’ll-timed for unless the panic in the population subsides, there is no other option for the preservation of civil order.

I think that Massie was throwing Pres Trump under the bus with a John McCain betrayal of being able to stop passage of this bill at the last minute. He would have gained nothing and grand standing is exactly what I call it. The Pres reaction is how I feel about Republicans who do not support their party and President while he has been on duty for the American people since he was nominated and then elected. This bill, like it or not, is not about a single senator or congress person and their particular set of priorities. Massie was on his own after the rest of congress had finally reached an agreement which would have unraveled with any delay. Massie got his publicity and Pres Trump does not need to
apologize for anything. We expect these stunts from the commie democrats but not Republicans and I think that the Pres is just plain fed up with those who use his hard work to promote themselves.

There is always that possibility but this one seems pretty straight forward.

After signing off on the added 2.2 trillion, including the 2.1 trillion in dem goodies not needed for the virus) I am much to my surprise no longer a Trump fan. I guess that was also part of the dems plan, to anger conservatives so much they won’t vote for him. Well, at least in my case, it worked! Joe Biden now stands a chance of winning for the first time. If Trump keeps this up there will be a landslide like he is predicting, only for the dems and not the RINOs Party.

Agreed. What the hell is going on here. Something smells. He did nothing wrong. In fact, I agree with him. This is the first time I’ve seen trump go aginst sanity.

Apparently things are not as they seem.

So you're willing to give the food away to the people who no longer have an income to buy it eh??? Good Man...

Being called “a third rate grandstander who should be thrown out of the Republican Party” by the president is never a good thing.

This is one of the most embarrassing threads I’ve ever seen on FR. So many here willing I see the country die for $1200. This boil should have been flushed down the toilet with Nancy’s ripped up sheets from the SOTU address. Trump should have insisted on removing the socialist pork but he went along with it. I’m truly disgusted by this whole thing.

"All these ‘Outraged’ “Trump Supporters should just Vote for Biden then..."

That's a little like telling some people injured in an auto crash who are moaning about their injuries, to go kill themselves.   (Not good or logical advice.)   That's exactly what Joe Biden does -- when a voter disagrees with him about something, he tells them to go vote for someone else.   Not very bright.
