I voiced concern about this on our local PDs Facebook page when they announced patrols. I respectfully asked them to be mindful of the rights that were “endowed by our creator” while out and about in our community.
A resident replied to my comment that nobody’s rights were more important than the health of the community. Another told me to “not be an idiot”. Another resident reported that he saw landscapers out working and they “seemed to be” socially distancing, but he wanted the pd to know.
This just doesn’t seem to be the country I served and was willing to die for. Breaks my heart.
If we saw this in a futuristic movie, we’d think it was pretty awful. Now we’re living it and not many complain.

And although is is going to over soon here and we will go back to normal, the new plenary powers assumed by the mayors and governments are now a tool in the bag, exercised once and certain to be rolled out again in a more virulent form.
This Schiff will cease as soon as it settles in and spread across the AA Community that the BARBERSHOPS are closed.
When that sinks in the Schiff will definitely hit the fan.
I can envision PDJT saying that the 15 day ‘test period’ is over, come out with a whole Shiff load of new ‘guidelines’, rescind the ‘Emergency’.
The states will then start backing off on the BullSchiff regulations because they will be able to BLAME PDJT if things go south.
Next step will be to cut off the ‘funding’ for new cases. Then you will see the cases drop...

So isn’t an officer coming up into your face a failure of distancing ? Seems like a perfect time for a coughing spasm to hit you, for which they’d probably tase you and throw you in a cell they just let a felon free in the ‘empty the jails’ initiative.
When I told her I would fight it as this is probably not a legal ticket (because as far as I know the Vehicle Code has not changed) she replied: "She said it was because of the virus. Only 2 passengers, one in front, one in back."
I asked if those were the officer's exact words to her friend (no reply yet) and told her we need to see the ticket itself to see the exact code cited.
I am not aware of Newsom pulling a fast one in this regard so maybe her friend is just thoroughly confused, but in this state anything goes. Frankly what disturbs me is how compliantly everyone is just rolling along their new Government BFFs.

This has to be the most overrated disease in history. Social distancing would be needed if we were coping with a medieval plague like smallpox, but not for what is only a more serious than average type of flu. Those scare stories from Italy involve deaths of older people with pre-existing conditions. And some people who get it have no symptoms.
