This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.

Lots of wiggle room there. If one “assumes” the number of asymptomatic cases is 4,000 times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate is the same as the chance of being hit with a meteorite or being swallowed by a whale.

I’ve tried to balance my thoughts and reasoning on this. So, neither a flubro or a doomtard.
That said, closing down mass gatherings, events, concerts etc was prudent. What we need to do now is to find the balance in which small businesses and industry can get back to production. GE in Louisville is reopening, but with fever checks prior to shifts, increased hand sanitizer stations and work areas shielded. IMO, we need to modify our work areas, increase telework, etc.
