I am in an ancillary travel industry. We’ve been shutdown since before many of the mandates due to people not traveling out of fear. The cancellations started hitting in mid-Feb.
I am not keen on taking a government loan either. There seems to be lots of crazy red tape involved there.
There is a lot I don’t understand...but I do know we have to get back to work.
Of course the US has the highest count of confirmed cases, but it is because the US has conducted the most testing. Since most of our testing is on people with symptoms, we by definition will have the most CONFIRMED cases. Other countries likely have more actual cases than we do, they simply haven’t conducted testing to confirm them.
The case count is irrelevant, unless it includes factors relating to testing. The death count per capita is what matters, and for the US it is very low.
Yes, Governors should start releasing restrictions county by county.
Here is how I think it will happen:
In early April, just before Easter, President Trump will officially advocate the reopening of businesses and schools, but leave the decision up to the individual state governors.
He will recommend strict adherence to limiting physical contact, touching doorknobs and railings, washing hands, and staying home if you are sick.
He will cite far lower than initially projected mortality rates, and other favorable trends, saying that great care must be taken, but that continued shutting down businesses and risking economic collapse is no longer warranted.
Some governors (mostly Republicans) will immediately follow his lead, and announce the end of the business and school closings in their states.
Several things will quickly become obvious. 1) All places are not equal. There are hot spots and there are places less at risk. One size doesn’t fit all. 2) Opinions vary. Some people will favor opening businesses and the question will be openly debated, as opposed to the current one-sided conversation. 3) People will get to see that in many places, businesses opened, and the world did not come to an end.
(Democrat) governors who keep everything in their states closed will be in a bind. Unless the virus suddenly explodes in areas where economic activity has resumed (which I believe it will not), the governors of closed states will face enormous pressure to open up businesses.
If, on the other hand, the virus does explode in places where businesses resumed, then so-be-it. President Trump loses his gamble - but...something tells me he will be proven right again.
I agree. And, hopefully gets people to realize that power was meant to be at the state and local levels, not the federal level.
Your post is very important because it shows how the economy works , how we can’t continue this shut down. You are a food manufacuter . What are these people thinking going along with this shutdown that food will magically be produced by people not working and appear in their house that that they will be ok if the economy collapses?
This is the news media’s plan to destroy the economy and the United States all to get one man. How many millions or billions worlwide will this economic collapse destroy and kill? Many millions if not billions of people.

The people who died with only corona virus would be 1/100 th of the death toll. 99% of the corona virus deaths had other diseases like cancer,H1N1 flu etc.
So they couldn’t say it was the corona virus that caused the death but they are.It could have been the H1N1 flu that the deceased also had that caused the death but they are adding it to the corona virus death toll.
So the death rate and tolls are really much much lower than they are saying it is (lower than the flu). And they are destroying the USA and planet for some false statistics and to win the election , to get one man:

This will only be possible if everyone back at work has a mask. Everyone in the country, for that matter.
This virus is characterized by asymptomatic spreaders. The ONLY way to fight that is if these spreaders wear masks. Which means, since we don’t know who these spreaders are, that EVERYONE MUST WEAR A MASK!
The ChiComs learned this the hard way - they started arresting people who had no masks outside. We can’t depend on ChiCom numbers, but I hope America is smart enough to learn from Chinese internet videos.
