Why the CDC botched its coronavirus testing
The first testing kits from the Centers for Disease Control had a simple fault, and red tape prevented other labs from creating their own.

MIT Technology Review article.
We have an enormous public health budget and infrastructure, but somehow such studies never get prioritized. But go to the CDCs web site and do a search on transgender, and there is an enormous number of hits and content (= $$) for an issue that affects a very small percentage of the population. Im sure there are plenty of other such questionable prioritization choices.
Bookmark the link in my post a couple above for the MIT Technology Review article on the CDCs testing failures.

Some folks in the US consider the elderly expendable.
The UK’s National Health Service considers all citizens expendable!
That was just our idiotic arsehole of a Prime Minister and his band of Merry Wankers. Fortunately the outrage made him change his mind.
Given the checklist that it is now failing, I would say they have mislabeled the category.
Wonder if the WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE Club
cares to even read this.
Or comprehend it.
Especially in the British tabs...
BTW, anyone who’d like a laugh...scroll down the info at the link and look at how many of the illnesses listed have a geographical location in the name.
Can’t be true - too many on FR seem oblivious as they keep trying to use isolated cases to try to say that those who keep saying it’s like the Flu (even though most of us said, rightly so, that the best precautions were to do what one would do to avoid the Flu during its season) so they can “be right” about their mindless panic to the point of caring not a whit about the Constitution any more...
“Coronavirus is highly contagious but most people will recover from it, even if they don’t see a doctor. That is why it got downgraded.”
Thanks, I was wondering about their rationale. When you have a healthcare system with one ICU per 10,000 people, because that covers the usual need, but then 1 in 100 people need it (for Coronavirus), or 1 in 10 need it (for Ebola, if it transmitted easy)...it really doesn’t make much difference. Either way the system is totally crashed and people will be dropping dead who could have been saved and recovered.
Quarantines and other public health measures are as American as apple pie:
Speaking of ICUs, the HCID classification also means you need specialized equipment to treat it and I believe there were only 2 such places in the entire UK. Another good reason to downgrade it.
Perhaps one may find information to assist at one of these sites:
www.lef.org
earthclinic.com
I have found that most problems are caused by toxicity, parasites, bacteria, viruses, or nutritional deficiency, and have in the past persuaded doctors to grant prescriptions if I had the paperwork or abstracts supporting my request with me at the time of the visit.
Also, always take someone else with you to a doctor visit.
Invaluable.
There's quarantines and there's wholesale exertion of control...one has its place and the other sets even more bad precedence.
I have "been guilty" of using comparisons to the Flu for perspective...As I type this, there's less than 600K reported cases of corona infection world-wide...it would have to multiply by 50 to even approach the number of Flu cases in America during an average year...yes, it will kill folks at a higher rate than the Flu but would have to be left totally unfettered to approach the deaths an average Flu season produces....yet we go into wholesale panic and beg the government to enslave us "for our own good"...
OF course, this is based on actual data, so crickets and tumbleweeds.
More information is available about mortality rates (low overall)
Well the media will go crazier can’t pimp fake news.going to be kicking a lot of dogs and drinking early today.
