AOC warns she may force House members to return for stimulus vote, potentially delaying final passage

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the high-profile freshman from New York, is leaving open the option of forcing House members to return to Washington to cast a vote on the $2 trillion stimulus package barreling through Congress.

The New York Democrat has expressed her frustration with reports of the stimulus deal, suggesting it's too tilted towards corporations. The deal was reached between senators from both parties -- including the senior Democratic senator from her state, Chuck Schumer, and the White House. On Wednesday, Ocasio-Cortez told CNN she is not ruling out asking for a recorded vote, which would force lawmakers to return to Washington and vote in-person, something that most members of Congress are eager to avoid amid the coronavirus pandemic. Asked if she had concerns about forcing lawmakers to return, which would be an unpopular move, she said, "Of course."

Of course! Insure maximum damage to the nation’s economy to use as an ax to grind against Trump.

How many people will AOC, Schumer, and Pelosi kill?

I love using their tactics on them.

All the members of the Squad were elected because of the work of the Justice Democrats founded by Kyle Kulinski of Secular Talk, Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks, and Saikat Chakrabarti and Zack Exley, former leaders from the 2016 Bernie Sanders presidential campaign.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has DELUSIONS of grandeur. She is a classic example of inflated ego.

When she first came babbling onto the scene FOX NEWS showed a drive through of where she represents. It is FILTHY, trash ridden and fit only for rats and other vermin.

Google
During the 2018 election campaign, Ocasio-Cortez resided in Parkchester, Bronx, with her boyfriend, web developer Riley Roberts.
nypost: Ocasio-Cortez has used her deceased father’s Bronx condo on her voter registration since 2012, and even posed in the one-bedroom Bronx flat for celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz in a Vogue magazine profile after her stunning November election. But The Post could find little indication she continues to live there.

So she lives in the Bronx and shacks up with her "boyfriend"--maybe.

Is it too much to ask for elected representatives to actually assemble? It is, in fact an Assembly.

Are we just going to allow the Speaker of the House, one individual, to just “deem” a piece of legislation passed because a passed House Bill was gutted and amended in the Senate?

And how soon do we return to proxy voting on the floor?

The representatives should assemble to pass laws, in person and by name, not just nod in their own homes.

...and as long as there is a quorum,...

Most members are out of town. There isn't a quorum (majority) or anything close to that.

One thing is for sure, any bill put on the table will pass with at least 350 votes.

Any bill. And she knows it.

She is just trying to slow things down and make a show FOR HERSELF. She’s a classic twitter attention whore.

Here’s my question:
Have the people elected to Congress— and their aides & IT people— never heard of SKYPE?
The coronavirus bill aside, I’m long ago fed up with
this too-convenient tactic of being away from D.C. (even back in their home districts) or on the campaign trail, or otherwise incommunicado, when in reality they’re just avoiding a vote which might come back to bite them later.
These a-holes need to vote yay, nay, or abstaining — on record for EVERY bill— and be held accountable.

SKYPE wouldn’t be hard or expensive to set up in the Chamber, and logging on from a laptop in a home district or anywhere else, would be easy peasy.

Should have been done long ago.
