'Biased' Tribune reporting cited in shortage of medical supplies needed in coronavirus fight
Dupage Policy Journal ^ | March 24, 2020 | W.J. Kennedy

For over a year scientists have been refuting the Chicago Tribune’s assertions that emissions of ethylene oxide (EtO), from a medical equipment plant, Sterigenics in Willowbrook, presented a danger to the public.

Last October, Sterigenics, overwhelmed by public pressure, closed the Willowbrook operation for good. . . . Much of the medical equipment needed in the fight against the coronavirus can only be sterilized with EtO, and that equipment is in dangerously short supply.

So much of the news seems to come right out of “Atlas Shrugged”. Do-gooders shut down a business with no awareness of consequences.

Just try running a ventilator 24/7 using Cuomo’s solar panel farm.

If true it may really border on criminal negligence. Ethylene oxide is toxic as hell which is why you use to to “sterilize” but it’s so reactive it’s half life in the atmosphere has to be milliseconds.

I used ethylene oxide to sterilize my surgery equipment because it didn't damage the wraps and instruments as did heat sterilizers. Then the EPA and do gooders got involved and we couldn't get the capsules anymore to use. It was cheap and effective.

I've heard the reporter who's responsible for this was forced to hound them by a couple of homophobes from Nigeria.

They are correct about the shortage. The larger point here is that there has been a shortage for decades. In fact the government has deliberately engineered the shortage in an effort to reduce healthcare costs. It wasn’t something that happened in the last 3 years.

Time for the victims’ families of the coronavirus to sue the crap out of those who falsely promoted the story about this company and its product.

The former owners of the company should lead this legal charge and take no prisoners.
