House Democrats are getting slammed by American citizens over revelations that their massive coronavirus relief package would actually fund hundreds of millions of dollars in pet projects.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi's 1,100-page proposal includes $35 million for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
The Democrats seem to believe that nothing can lift the American spirit during a global pandemic quite like a Broadway show choir prancing across the stage in spandex and sequins while flashing jazz hands.
But among the biggest beneficiaries of the pandemic's largesse are the National Endowment of the Arts and PBS, affectionately known as Public Welfare Broadcasting System.
PBS, the home of popular programs like Sesame Street, would receive $300 million to "prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus."
It takes $300 million to tell a staffer to wash up before he sticks his hands in the backside of a muppet?
The National Endowment of the Arts would receive $300 million and so would the National Endowment of the Humanities. A grand total of $600 million for artists, dancers, and poetry slams.
But even that amount pales in comparison to the $500 million the Democrats want to give to the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The money would be designated in part to purchase Wi-Fi access, computers and "other internet-enabled devices."
I'm fairly certain Comcast or Spectrum would be more than happy to provide a package deal for a fraction of that amount. And they'd probably throw in free cable and phone service, too.
Millions of people across this nation are unemployed. An untold number of small businesses are on the verge of economic collapse. Your children could go to bed hungry while Big Bird dines on filet mignon.
BS article. I’m sure Big Bird is vegan and only drinks the finest soy milk while being rimmed by same sex partners while reading to 1st graders...
The canceling out of free and open elections is the real deal breaker for me.

B. This is NOT the bill that is trying to happen in the Senate today. We like the senate bill, at least Trump, McConnell and Mnuchin like it.
The purpose of the Democrat Party is to elect thieves to public office so that they can loot the public treasuries.

If I could talk to Nancy, I would ask her, what does exhaust emissions for airplanes have to do with coronavirus? What do any of these items on her wishlist have to do with the economic dislocations caused by corona virus?
Clearly they are in Rahm Emanuel mode, of not wanting this crisis to go to waste.
Keep it up, Nancy. You’ll turn the Dem Party into a useless relic in the rear of an antique store yet, with a price tag as big as your ego and your promises to your mad handlers.
Missing in Action: Stimulus Sheriff Joe Biden

Remember when President Obama bragged about Joe Biden’s fiscal discipline creds in 2009? “To you, he’s Mr. Vice President, but around the White House, we call him the Sheriff,” Obama warned government employees. “Because if you’re misusing taxpayer money, you’ll have to answer to him.” Fast-forward to 2012. Call in the search teams. Since being appointed the nation’s stimulus spending cop, Sheriff Joe has taken a permanent donut break.
He’s AWOL on oversight. In fact, he’s been bubble-wrapped, boxed and kept completely out of sight. The garrulous gaffe machine hasn’t sat down for a national media interview in five months.
The Democrats’ trillion-dollar “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” however, keeps piling up waste, failure, fraud and debt. Who benefited most? Big government cronies. According to Investor’s Business Daily, a new analysis by Ohio State economics professor Bill Dupor reported that “(m)ore than three-quarters of the jobs created or saved by Pres Obama’s economic stimulus in the first year were in government.”
Dupor and another colleague had earlier concluded that the porkulus was a predictable jobs-killer that crowded out non-government jobs with make-work public jobs and programs. Indeed, the massive wealth redistribution scheme “destroyed/forestalled roughly one million private sector jobs” by siphoning tax dollars “to offset state revenue shortfalls and Medicaid increases rather than boost private sector employment.”
Will this Keynesian wreckage come up during Biden's debates? It should be a centerpiece of domestic policy discussion. Nowhere is the gulf between Obama/Biden rhetoric and reality on jobs wider. Remember: Obama’s Ivy League eggheads behind the stimulus promised that “(m)ore than 90 percent of the jobs created are likely to be in the private sector.” These are the same feckless economic advisers who infamously vowed that the stimulus would keep unemployment below 8 percent — and that unemployment would drop below 6 percent sometime this year. Sheriff Joe rebuked the “naysayers” who decried the behemoth stimulus program’s waste, fraud and abuse. “You know what? They were wrong,” he crowed.
Sheriff Biden was radio silent about the nearly 4,000 stimulus recipients who received $24 billion in Recovery Act funds — while owing more than $750 million in unpaid corporate, payroll and other taxes. (Cash for Tax Cheats, anyone?)
He had nothing to say about:
<><> $6B in Homeowners' stimulus energy credits showered on nearly 1/3 of credit-claimers who had no record of homeownership, including minors and prisoners.
<><> $530 million dumped into profligate Detroit public schools for laptops and other electronics that had little, if any, measurable academic benefits.
<><> a whopping $6.7 million per job under the $50 billion stimulus-funded green energy loan program
<><> politically connected Green companies are now bankrupt---they took the money then went belly-up
<><> remember? Solyndra ($535M), Abound Solar ($400M), Beacon Power ($43M), A123 ($250M) and Ener1 ($119M).
<><> $1 million to Big Bird and Sesame Street “to promote healthy eating,” for a theoretical 1.47 jobs ($726K job created.)
<><> hundreds of stimulus millions to govt GSA junkets in Las Vegas and Hawaii,
<><> hundreds of millions to ghost congressional districts, dead people,
<><> 100's millions for infrastructures to nowhere,
<><> 100's of millions for endless stimulus propaganda
<><> millions for road signs stamped with Obama's "shovel-ready" logo.
Of course, there’s no example of unfettered stimulus squandering more fitting than the one named after Keystone Fiscal Kop Joe Biden himself. Government-funded Amtrak’s Wilmington, Del., station raked in $20 million in “recovery” money after heavy personal lobbying by the state’s most prominent customer and cheerleader. In return, the station (which came in $6 million over budget, according to The Washington Times) renamed its facility after Biden. Bloated costs.
Crony political narcissism. Glaring conflicts of interest. Monumental waste.
This is the Obama/Biden stimulus legacy bequeathed to our children and their grandchildren. Sheriff Joe and his plundering boss need to be run out of town on a rail.

That is the question what needs to be asked many times to all the Democrats.
I talked to my oldest yesterday who is in ND said the bill stalled , and he told me it was because of the Republicans are trying to give it all to big business.
Now he is a conservative , but has gone off in the last year with a girl who lets say is not very bright at all.
It seems she is pushing her ignorance onto him as he had no idea about the pork projects until I told him.
From the title Big Bird I thought this was about Kaiser Wilhelm DeBlahzero the NYC mayor.
In the BS that Comrade Pelosi is calling for, “same day” voter “registration” is called for. Additionally, she is also wanting to permit and allow unfettered “Ballot Harvesting” in all National elections. They were able to pull that off in Orange County California, resulting in several traditionally Republican seats to suddenly flip to the Communists in the 2018 midterms.
In simple language, the DemocRAT Party will be allowed to VOID anything that remotely resembles Free and Open Elections.
