Hours after Denver Mayor Michael Hancock announced liquor stores and recreational marijuana dispensaries would close across the city in an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus, his office reversed course, a report said.

The mayor sent a tweet at 5 p.m. Denver time saying liquor and marijuana stores in city would be open as usual, but following extreme physical distancing rules (social distancing). The new rules will continue through April 10, the Denver Post reported.

The city defined “extreme” as six feet, or the normal amount of social distancing now recommended, the report said.

The horde has got to have them drugs and their booze. People will riot to have their fixes, no matter which type. MaryJane, Tom, Bob or Jim Booze, whatever. So, to save the riots, the good mayor opens the stores.

North Dakota Gov announced the power to close liquor stores too over the weekend. I went Monday and all the bottom shelf booze is gone, the mid-price booze is running lean, but there’s plenty of top shelf selection. Cheap beer vanished too.

What is the thinking about closing liquor stores? How is that going to help stop the virus?

It doesn’t affect me since I don’t drink. But this overreaching is wrong.

The movie Soylent Green was absolutely tame by today’s standards.

How does social distancing work in a whore house?

“What about whore houses?”

Ask the mayor, he's well acquainted with them.

Mayor of Denver: democrat.
City of Denver: sanctuary city.
Just putting that out here.

I think it’s more the amount of time spent with someone infected. Liquor stores as long as there is not a line, couple minutes in and out. Probably not a huge number of people. Cnurch people are closer for longer. Viral load is a thing

Take vodka away from Russians or tequila from Mexicans and see what happens next.

Well, that’s one way to rid the population of potheads and winos. Nothing like good ol’ pot lung and alchoholism to weaken the lungs and internal organs.

The wife had the most pleasant experience at the liquor store the other day. A (short) line outside as they would only allow ten people in the store at a time. Instead of fighting her way through swarms of people and carts in the aisle (SOP) the trip was smoothe, quick, and easy. Plenty of stock and everyone seemed fine with the set-up.
