Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday required anyone flying from New York and New Jersey to be in a 14-day self-quarantine upon arrival in the Sunshine State, a move he said was aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus in his state.
“That’s the only way we can be sure that the virus is not going to be reintroduced in the state of Florida and spread,” DeSantis said in a televised briefing.
In the executive order released Monday night, DeSantis said there was “an increase in individuals fleeing to Florida” from states where “shelter-in-place” measures were put in place, including the New York tri-state area. Gov. Phil Murphy and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo have told residents to stay home and ordered sweeping closures to combat the contagious virus.

I listened to the Prez today. He basically said a few weeks and we will go back to normal. Also said we would continue strict measures in some places but not others. I think he would support DeSantis on this.
Same 14 day “self-quarantine” now for people traveling to Hawaii. There goes their tourist industry (which is their largest industry by far).
As a resident, we should keep this in place AFTER corona passes.
Super move by Trump to say Enough...Cure is worse than the problem.. Dr. Birx said mortality rate is much lower then first thought. Democrats would love for Trump to destroy US Economy over the Chinese virus. He wisely said by next week we’ll make a decision....I think I know the answer..

He did not say that. He said we can do two things at once. Open back up regionally and incrementally and continue to fight the virus using the new testing and therapy protocols to limit spread and improve the outcome of infections as well as continuing some of the practices that have been implemented.
Better put an ankle bracelet on them because most will ignore that self quarantine.

The virus could be spread to people on the plane that did not come from NY or NJ unless we are talking about direct flights. It could be passed on person to person on the plane.
The planes are all contaminated anyways.
Florida local governments have already shut down many of the prime tourist beaches. And Disneyworld is closed.
