Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) blocked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnells (R-Ky.) attempt to set up a Monday morning vote on the stimulus package, effectively delaying the vote until the afternoon.
McConnell had vowed earlier Sunday that he would force a second procedural vote related to the stimulus package at 9:45 a.m., 15 minutes after the markets open.
But when McConnell tried to lock in that time, Schumer objected, denying the GOP leader the consent he needed to enact his plan.
Instead, the Senate will vote for a second time after they come into session at noon on Monday.
Schumer said he and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin were making good progress.
I think theres a good chance we can have an agreement, he said, adding that Democrats were fighting for a better bill.

he is live on the senate floor right now noon
Correct, no threat of violence. This should be a criminal and civil trial of Pelosi and Schumer, with the question: “What did they know about the coronavirus origin and spread, and when did they know it ( from Schiff of the House Intel Committee)? And how much they profited with their overseas accounts too.
Trump could begin this process by asking one of those ‘so intelligent’ White House reporters that question, to whatever rude question they ask him.
Trump should make the case tonight:
“The American people can ask Congress to give us a clean bill with flexibility to deal with this crisis at it evolves, trusting my team and I to make good decisions, so our people end up with good jobs and as healthy and safe as possible. Or, they can ask Congress to support the Pelosi bill that ensures, for a little while, that they can just barely squeak by on unemployment benefits. Please contact your Senators and Representatives immediately.”
Its really not Mitchs fault that the Dems are playing despicable politics...
Well, yes and no.
If there were ever a time for McConnell to do a Harry Reid, the time is now.
He can suspend or do away with the 60 vote cloture rule on filibusters.
If this is truly a national emergency then republicans should take charge and reorganize those archaic Senate rules.
Never let a crisis go to waste.
Between Schumer and Pelosi, I don’t think that in my long life, I have ever experienced 2 people less qualified for their jobs....and it is SAD
why don't they just dress them in haz-mat suits and let them vote \,or better yet, why, in this day and age of instant communication don't they get rid of that asinine rule that you have to be present to vote???????
Oh, PLEASE...the Democrats have been STRICTLY self-interest politicians for 30-40 years, they stopped being for the "working person" long, long ago. Pelosi and Schumer are two of the worst politicians that I've seen in my life and I'm 81
all 5 tested positive....would you have volunteered just to make a point???
Kill the filibuster
Not true: if he had NOT kept the filibuster, which the Republicans did NOT introduce, we would in fact have a much worse situation. It wasn’t the Republicans who went “nuclear” first, just remember that.
Senator Chuck Schumer and House Leader Nancy Pelosi have a LOT to answer for.
Thank you, @Fury.
You can think whatever you want; it is after all a free country.
But Senator Ted Cruz is an honorable man who has, after all, supported President Trump. And he has, after all, been trying to hold the opposition accountable. Remember President Reagan’s admonition on the virtues of placing the focus on those who are the /most/ accountable for the present situation, which is NOT the Republican senate?

Yes they will because the news will not mention all the perks added to the bill for Corona by Dems.
The only way this gets out is the Presidents press confernece where he reads all that the Dems added when they shut down the checks coming to your families.
He needs to list the perks ON TV. IF Repubs did this, added perks Obama would have the balls to read it on national TV
I don’t believe Romney is sick, was exposed. I believe Rand but not some of the others. I find it odd that so many Repubs are out and what two Dems? Out of 500 congress critters?
I’m sorry but President should know the friggin rules by now. He is so brilliant and smart and the deal maker and yet goes on TV and says he doesn’t know the rules of the Senate? READ the rules Mr President or get someone who can read them to you. NO excuse.
I’m embarrassed by our party and messaging and having the balls to really be in the majority when we are in majority.
Instead we have weasels who stay home and fake sickness to hurt our President.
Instead we have a majority leader who won’t allow remote voting for those Senators who are out sick. I want their votes on record!!!
He could make it a sunset date due to national emergency.
Mark my words the DEMS will win this.
I may even not vote come November what’s the point when our party has so many traitors we are just delaying the inevitable with the DEMS and their social justice goodies, wish list to come to fruition.
Good idea. Or he could
Good
I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
These. senators can show up wearing masks to vote.
Its not like trey are actually sick- except for Rand Paul and he is not on a respirator
