***The pandemic is real. The coronavirus is obviously highly contagious, though its mortality rate is low.
I think it's the Information Age that has produced the extreme measures. In the past, we would have suffered the pandemic until it ran its course. Today, because of the Information, we see a real possibility of containing and ameliorating it, and we are compelled to do so***

This is a well constructed syllogism (?) which, IMO, defines Prez Trump's dilemma. He may perceive that there is a built in trap in this scenario of accepting a dangerous pandemic, yet, by weight of the media's power, it might prove counterproductive to take it too lightly and not be seen as conquering the challenge in a post modern world setting.

IOW, Trump may have fallen in to a trap with this potentially fabricated pandemic story, but he might prove to have bested the odds and portrayed himself as a super administrator if he can present a picture of having met the historical odds {e.g. Barak 0bama & the H1N1 viral epidemic} and overcome them.

It seems doubtful that the elitist controlled media will ever afford him the appearance of such a victory.

Government is not the same as business. Correct statement.

BUT the Federal Government we have currently is not within the bounds of the US Constitution. Has not been for a long time, and is almost totally rogue now.

Your point is a good one and keenly perceived.

I agree that President Trump may have reacted to the pandemic more aggressively than he considered necessary, but he decided, wisely, to err, if at all, on the side of caution.

His motivation, as always, was to do his duty and protect the American People.

He was no doubt aware of the pressure on him, from his enemies, not to show any sign of negligence or weakness. He knows these people well. He has always outthought and outmaneuvered them. He towers over them intellectually and morally, and they lack the wit even to comprehend his huge intellectual and moral advantage over them.

Trump is a super administrator, and he has met the historical odds. He will also overcome them.

The corrupt news media will never acknowledge Trump's towering intellect and morality over them. They are too corrupt to believe it even if they were honest enough to perceive it. He knows this.

Only a fool would underestimate Donald Trump.

The corrupt news media and the Democrat Party are full of fools.

Where I live, the local authorities are going a good job of curtailing civil liberties on their own. They don’t need any help from the Feds.

IMHO, the media, owned overwhelmingly by elitist billionaires, has been running an agenda that would allow them to take control of the world - i.e. globalism. They employ either greedy or shallow minded people to further their agenda. Donald Trump has established his position as a populist, and the two sides are at mortal enmity.

It is also MHO that those billionaires are, perhaps unwittingly, helping to establish the kingdom of the antichrist. Whether they succeed is in the hands of a power much higher than any of them, but I have to consider the possibility and be prepared for the possible consequences. I have made preparations accordingly - although I might come to wish I had stashed more toilet paper. ;^)

There is a prominent China watcher - whose name escapes me at the moment - who is saying that China can use this dilemma to their advantage: to unseat the tough Mr. Trump and install the vapid Mr. Biden. The aforementioned billionaires have shown themselves as friendly to a world system more in line with China's views than America's, for whatever reason. It would seem to lead more efficiently to their dream of a globalist power system; China certainly has expressed their desire for such a system - under their rulership.

Since this virus came from China one can speculate, within the above portraiture, that this is all part of a master scheme to finally rid the world of Donald Trump and populist political movements. Such speculation would be fairly extreme with what we know now.

Still, as I say, one keeps an open mind and tries to be prepared for the more obvious eventualities.

That’s exactly what is driving the DOJ here. They’re asking congress to establish — by law — some kind of process that addresses the simple dilemma facing Federal courts right now.

I don't really see it as a dilemma. If they can't or won't allow Habeas Corpus, they have to release them. The law is there to protect us all, all of the time, not just when it is convenient to the government.

I think the China virus is the turning point for ruining China’s global ambitions. They’ve revealed to the would how bad they are in many ways, and also those who are in China’s pockets, or rather have Chinese $ in their pockets, are exposing themselves. I am actually cheerful about this.

One has to assume that anything from any MSM outlet is either all lies, a mix of lies and truth, and/or cherry picked so as to present a totally opposite meaning.

The U.S. Constitution actually DOES allow for the suspension of habeas corpus in extraordinary circumstances.

I have speculated that the DOJ is asking for Congress to define a specific period of time (days or weeks) when jury trials can be delayed under these circumstances -- and if Congress doesn't act, then the DOJ will have all the legal and political leverage it needs to compel courts to open and compel jurors to serve even in places that are under strict lockdown orders by state or local officials.

The only thing extraordinary about this circumstance is what the media and government is making of it.

I happen to think you’re right. That being said, we do now have an unusual situation where many Federal district courts are closed.

I know. You and I are often not at odds. I'm just saying that if the feds want to continue with business as usual, then they need to start acting like it. Right now we are being screwed massively by the deep state and others. I'm not interested in giving anyone any more power. I really don't give a damn what their excuse is.

In real life, it is best to solve problems without the courts.

When courts no longer abide by their own laws, then it becomes a circus that certainly does not achieve justice.

Yes my point being ideological alignment is important these days in the hyper partisan government. Hiring people for their capability but finding out later they are Hillary shills has not been working out for Trump.
