Can someone tell me why there’s this obsession with toilet paper? I don’t think Covid-19 gives one dysentery so what is the obsession? The logic just isn’t there, it’s like saying I want to bake an apple pie so let me buy some oranges, what the hell does one have to do with the other?
Prepping for novices!
Media-induced panic. Mob mentality...
It’s not direct fear of the virus that’s driving it. Some people are fearful of imminent quarantines. Others worry that the aforementioned will make it very difficult to find any when others need it. Others are just following the herd.
A market that I’ve been visiting seems to be experiencing a new sort of shortage each day. One day, no milk. The next day, plenty of milk, but no eggs. The next, the pasta shelves are empty. But plenty of toilet paper.
That’s what it is isn’t it. They see or read about people buying cases of toilet paper and without thinking about it, they do they same even though it’s completely illogical. Sounds like the kind of people Democraps rely on for votes.
The first run on toilet paper was in 1864 during the Civil War. 345,568 lemmings ran off a cliff when they heard a report that a truckful of toilet paper had
stalled on the road below the cliff.

It’s the 21st Century version of Tulip Mania. At some point, people will wake up and wonder what madness drove them fill their living room with cases of toilet paper.
There’s going to come a time when you’re not allowed to leave the house at all. At that point when you run out of toilet paper it will be bad. I think that’s the logic.
Who truly believes all of the border-jumpers among us (30-40 million last count) are going to obey the laws and shelter in place if it comes to that? The reason the illegals are here is because they have no respect for authority or laws to begin with. Which was how they got here in the first place. ILLEGALLY.
They also have had a lifetime living in countries regularly experiencing market shortages, so they are expert at having to scramble and hoarding to deal with scarcity. We have not had to live that way because scarcity has been a relatively rare event in our free-market driven, first-world economy.
If I can get my 90 year old dad to do it, I’ll consider that a success.
What is the worst that can happen If you run out? Youll have to take a quick shower afterwards. Everyone relax.
People believe they will have to stay at their home, much more than usual.
They believe they will be restricted in their access to stores.
They consider what would be a real pain to run out of, and how much they have. If they are low on toilet paper, they decide to buy a case instead of a couple of rolls.
As toilet paper production is closely tuned to demand, when a significant percent of the population increases it's demand 10x, the shelves empty.
Then more people become concerned and wish to stock up, and the panic buying continues.
It is a very similar situation to the .22 ammunition bubble which occurred in the second term of the Obama regime.

Years ago there was a West Coast longshoreman’s strike that closed shipping to Hawaii for many months. Part way through some smart ass radio announcer was joking about a toilet paper shortage. There was no shortage up to that point. There was after.
The first thing I reached out for was an extra supply of medications.
Then I counted up how many poorolls we have on hand in the house times the projected need, and realized we were already good for several months. After which there should be replenishment. If not, what did I save all that quilting fabric for?
One thing I know is that the U.S. has a lot of timber and paper-making facilities. But many of the medical supplies come from China.
Diarrhea is a RARE symptom of the Kung Flu.
