As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread around the world, there are growing questions in Russia about the official number of cases that have been declared.
According to the count released by its health ministry, Russia currently has only 253 confirmed cases of the virus. That is vastly lower than in other major countries in Western Europe, where there are already thousands of cases.What really makes Russia an outlier, however, is the number of tests it is carrying out compared to its number of positive cases.
Russia has done 133,101 tests, putting it behind only China, Italy and South Korea.But with just 306 cases of the virus, Russia’s ratio of positive cases to the number of tests is the second lowest in the world, at 0.21%.

For example, the U.K. has done 64,600 tests and has over 3,000 cases. In Norway, 44,000 tests have turned up 1,700 cases.

In 1992, I was in a Marine detachment aboard a US navy vessel. We had a Russian destroyer working with our battlegroup in the Gulf. One day I was standing next to an old crusty Gunny watching it steam next to us, about 2 miles away. Cutting my teeth in the military during the Cold War, what I saw amazed me. I turned to him and said, "Gunny, I never thought I'd see the day that the Russians would be our friends." What happened next is forever ingrained in my memory. Without ever taking his eyes of the Russian ship, he took a long drag off his cigarette, exhaled and replied, "Devil Dog, make no mistake about it, they may not be our enemies anymore, but they will never be our friends."
Honestly, his response left me a little confused. It wasn't until later that I understood what he meant. Russia, along with every other country in the world only has Russia's best interests at heart. They play nice with the US as long as it suits their purpose. The US is the only country I can think of that is inhabited and run by people who don't hold the same idea, and actively work to make their country weaker and more vulnerable on the world stage.

Implied in the statement is the assumption that Russia (and for that matter others) have the ability to correctly and expeditiously collect data on all of the population everywhere in the country.
The people who care the most about Russian data are the Democrat panic peddlers. When Virus-Virus-Virus ends, they’ll be back to Rusia-Russia-Russia.

I was somehow sympathic to Putin over time although not a fan but not anymore due to some idiotic remarks on economy he voiced recently and above all based on his stance in an oil war with Saudi Arabia.
Putin sticking his fingers into Constitution for term limits is even more disgusting.
I still thing Russia has an okay response to the pandemic and not covering anything.
