Chinese medical experts helping Italy deal with the crisis have said restrictions imposed in the Lombardy region are "not strict enough" to contain the spread
Italy called in the military to enforce the lockdown on Friday as officials announced 627 new deaths in 24 hours, the largest single-day toll in any country since the coronavirus outbreak began. Desperate scenes have unfolded in the north of the country, particularly the hardhit Lombardy region where infections first exploded last month, as hospitals struggle to treat thousands of cases, CNN reported.

What’s next....mass executions of the infected?

They want to weld Italians inside their apartment buildings?
People are already scared out of their minds in Italy, already forced to house arrest but the virus keeps spreading in larger amounts and they somehow presume it’s because nobody is staying home?
Doesn’t that infer there’s another transmission mechanism going on rather than presuming everybody is out partying?
1. It’s airborne. Those quaint videos of everyone standing on their balconies singing to each other...yeah...they’re spreading it too.
2. The positive test you see today is where the virus was about 2 weeks ago. You’ll have to wait about 2 weeks to see where the virus is today.
I gather not too many creepers still post on Facebook? They are marking my posts as spam like crazy now.
What is happening in Italy is pretty horrific.
Do you think they have a different strain? It can’t all just be their hospital system.
“Whats next....mass executions of the infected?”
Depends on how closely the follow their Chinese consultants’ advice.
Works for NK
I think that it is strain L-—same as NYC.
Washington got the light version.
I can’t help but think Italy’s out break severity is due to a large number of Chinese immigrants. No I am not saying Chinese people are any more likely to get and spread a virus. They would, however, be much more likely to have traveled to China or had visitors from there before this all started.
The Chinese garment workers of the new Silk Road went back home for Chinese New Year and then returned for "Fashion Week" with the Chinese Virus as a stowaway.
It makes all kind’s of sense but mentioning it, just plain wacist./s
I guess the stupid $@#% Italian government shouldnt have started their stupid effort to replace Italian workers with Chinese workers and their asinine virtue signaling campaign to hug a Chinese colonist.
The establishment of European nations in the West need to all be hung by trees like apples.
Socialized medicine. Italians always kissing each others cheeks. Not staying indoors. Same strain.
Friday, February 12th was the Chinese Lunar New Year celebration, so many, many, many Chinese went back to their homeland to celebrate, and brought it back with them.
Sounds about right.
At the end of December, an uncommon number of pneumonia cases arrived at the hospital of Codogno in northern Italy, the head of the emergency ward, Stefano Paglia, told the newspaper La Repubblica. Some of these patients could carry the coronavirus, but doctors treated them as typical winter diseases.
Unfortunately, a decisive contribution to the spread of the infection was given by the health facility itself, due to the amount of medical staff and attendees going through the compound daily. "The hospital acted as a multiplier," Walter Ricciardi, executive board member of the World Health Organization (WHO) and consultant for the Italian health ministry. Coronavirus and the Sun: a Lesson from the 1918 Influenza Pandemic . Put simply, medics found that severely ill flu patients nursed outdoors recovered better than those treated indoors. A combination of fresh air and sunlight seems to have prevented deaths among patients; and infections among medical staff.
`Open-Air Treatment in 1918 During the great pandemic, two of the worst places to be were military barracks and troop-ships. Overcrowding and bad ventilation put soldiers and sailors at high risk of catching influenza and the other infections that often followed it.[2,3] As with the current Covid-19 outbreak, most of the victims of so-called `Spanish flu did not die from influenza: they died of pneumonia and other complications.
