Joe Biden campaign adjusts its tactics amid coronavirus

Campaign staffers are hunkered down at home instead of working from their headquarters or in primary states. Traditional fundraisers, campaign rallies and speeches are replaced with virtual events that have faced technological snafus.

From his home in Wilmington, Delaware, Biden told reporters on a call Friday that his campaign had hired a professional team to set up the ability to broadcast live on television networks from there -- potentially with the small group of reporters that travels with his campaign present. He said he aims to be up and running by Monday, holding regular briefings on the response to the coronavirus pandemic and answering questions from reporters.

"Hopefully by Monday, we're going to be in a very different place in terms of being able to be in communication with all of you," Biden said. "I promise you're going to be hearing more of me than you want, probably."

For Biden personally, the pandemic has forced a drastic change in focus.

"I find myself literally on the phone with my key advisers, medical advisers and economic advisers literally four, five hours a day, going through detailed memoranda on what we should be doing," Biden said Friday.

"My whole focus has basically been how we deal with this crisis, and quite frankly, thus far it's been less about how we campaign or make stark differences between the President and I," he said. "I think some are just self-evident."

The more Biden stays hidden, the better. I did hear that Biden is going to start holding his own coronavirus briefings. Can you imagine Biden actually talking for an hour and taking questions for another hour, the way Trump does? What he’ll do is pop in, deliver about 5 minutes of comments, and then disappear.

The Ultimate Irony of all this is that Joe's Campaign maybe the biggest (political) casualty of this whole Corona Virus ordeal.

Of course the campaign has changed its tactics. He has been muzzled because it seems that God has a sense of humor. He was put up there as the ideal candidate to run in an election cycle where nothing of any consequence is happening. His defining attribute was that he could be presented as a harmless dope who wouldn’t make waves in Washington and would restore the White House as a place where corporate and foreign interests lead their pet U.S. president around on a leash.

But it turns out that Biden is the absolute WORST guy to have in the White House in a time of fear and uncertainty. He confirmed this at that last pathetic debate with Bernie Sanders when he couldn’t even get the name of the viral pandemic. He got it wrong at least three or four times ... and each time he used a DIFFERENT wrong name. It's SARS one minute ... then swine flu ... then Ebola ... then “this thing.”

This isn’t even about damage control for the Democrats. It’s about BRAIN DAMAGE control.
