Nikki Haley Resigns from Boeing Board Over Their Seeking Bailout
New Thud ^ | 20 March 2020 | Paul Goldberg

Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has resigned from the Boeing Board of Directors.

She explained that she is against their seeking bailout funds during the coronavirus pandemic.

Haley wrote in her resignation letter:

I have had the pleasure of working with Boeing for almost ten years now. As South Carolina Governor I came to know the quality of the company, but more importantly, the excellence of the Boeing team and workforce. When I was asked to join the Board of Directors, there was no better team I could think of being a part of.

As Boeing has gone through the difficulties of the MAX, I have appreciated the humility and transparency shown by the team to make sure that when the MAX is back in the air, it will be the safest, strongest plane ever flown.

As we encounter the Covid-19 crisis, Boeing, along with many other companies, face another major set of challenges. I want to be part of helping the company as it pushes through it. However, the board and executive team are going in a direction I cannot support.

As long as genius caroline kennedy remains on the Boeing board there’s nothing to worry about.

She was fine with them killing people left and right. But a gov bailout is beyond the limits of good taste.

I’m not sure that leaving when the going gets tough is the right move. We’ll see.

Boeing currently gets a lion share of the Import/Export bank loans. I sure hope they don’t get another nickel. For crying out loud they borrowed money to buyback shares for 7 years, screw ‘em. Let them deal with bankruptcy courts and financially start over.

This is an ethical and class move from her. Regardless of what she personally thinks about Boeing wanting a bailout, her connection to the administration makes her involvement unethical. I admire her for doing this.

“She’s positioning herself.”

This. She is running for president.

When? Now.

No one knows which year she will announce, not even Nikki.

I was just in a conference with Haley a few weeks ago. She has a good background of fighting against lifetime politicians and good old boy network.

She is a big supporter of term limits and regrets it was the one thing she could not get done in SC.

She praises Trump a lot and says her time working for him was great. Trump gave her latitude and listened when she disagreed....but she respected that he had the final word.

Haley was the one who created the “shit-list” of nations that take US foreign aid and vote against us in the UN....something Trump uses as leverage against those nations.

She is positioning for 2024. Clearly. If she runs on a platform of term limits, I can definitely get behind her.

“Regardless of what she personally thinks about Boeing wanting a bailout, her connection to the administration makes her involvement unethical. I admire her for doing this.”

I would have admired her more if she had had the talent to ask the right questions after the first 737 Max disaster.

I have to ask, “As a Boeing board member, what leadership and oversight did she provide to the company?”

I mean other than being a woman and a first generation American popular with the main-stream media.

“She has a good background of fighting against lifetime politicians and good old boy network.”

And fighting against monuments to dead American veterans.

When the Washington Monument is toppled, you’ll be able to trace it back to her governorship.

Term limits are the ultimate goal of the uniparty! Politicians get voted in and out or have to leave office and then bureaucrats who are on the Dole could never get removed from office much like the senior executive staff, they are the core of the deep State term limits are a nightmare

What do board members do? Nothing.

The chairman is usually the CEO who rubberstamps all of the scandalous compensation packages for the mediocrity that run the company.

The rest is a clown car full of tokens that appeal to the SJWs and potential sources of income.

The only reason Haley is there is because Boeing wanted to keep the government cheese flowing.

I'm sure they have some NAACP and some LGBT token on the board as well.

Haley got to go on all-expense paid trips to various vacation locales for "board meetings" so she could vote along with the chairman.

That is all.

Back in Calvin Coolidge's day it was considered a disgrace for a politician to be too long in the same office. It was much like the military: move up or move out.

But that wasn't the law, that was the attitude.

I believe that whether or not we have term limits politicians and/or bureaucrats will find a way to abuse us. The problem is not term limits or no term limits, the problem is that the attitude has changed.

Our politicians and bureaucrats no longer consider themselves our servants, but instead consider themselves our betters.

No amount of legislation aimed at reigning them in will help if they don't have an attitude adjustment.
