I don't really expect anyone to "take away" mass transit, but it's a reasonable assumption that it would help if they did.
Get people out of the cities. Get people back to the land.

My mother refused to sell or give away her car even though she really didn’t drive it the last year of her life (86). She lived in a nice retirement home.
She and 3 of her friends in the retirement home would go out for lunch on Wednesdays and go to the local park or to a movie theater. Once a month they just went shopping. My Mother drove them in her car.
She and my MIL told us to never give up our cars and to keep at least one.
My dad stopped driving the last few years of his life due to cataracts. He hated it, told me to never stop owning a car.
Atlanta’s mayor sure does, on that last. And Atlanta proper is only 10-15% of the metro area population. Some of the counties have bigger school systems.
Remember “Cash for Clunkers? Lots of poor folks had cars then. Not so much now.
With a vehicle, there’s always a chance to move out and up.
The establishment thinks the American public are nothing but cattle and mass transit is just a manifestation of their belief that we should be treated and transported like cattle. Mass transit only makes sense in very dense urban areas like the Acela Corridor. It doesn’t make sense in most western cities like Phoenix or Denver or Houston. Let the local voters and the free market decide where mass transit occurs and what form it takes.

I have had democrat politicians tell me that they like mass transit so that the roads are more open for them.
They never ride the tax payer funded buses; just signaling thru their votes / their fake global warming virtue..
Same fools who never put expensive, intermittent, not reliable .. solar panels on their homes, yet vote to spend taxpayers’ money on (not recyclable) panels on public buildings..
