The shelves of some stores may not have toilet paper and diapers, but the products are weaving through the supply chain, International Paper CEO Mark Sutton told CNBC on Friday. Diapers and toilet paper, theres plenty of it, Sutton said on Squawk Box. Its just got to get the velocity through the system, through the distribution centers and directly to the consumers.

well ya better send a billion rolls up to our neck of the woods because toilet paper right now is more rare and apparently invisible than Big Foot- We keep hearing reports that there are rolls, but noone ever really has proof- just shaky videos out of focus-

Totally ridiculous. I am visiting the bathroom exactly the same number of times as I did before this nonsense started. Why exactly would I go buy a truckload of toilet paper and hoard it in my basement?

Only way to do it is for stores to enforce limits - saw a Facebook post where a guy had his double garage packed front-to-back and side-to-side and as high as door opening with TP he hoped to get rich from....some folks claim it’s “capitalism” and I say it’s immoral usury that hurts those who can’t afford to fall victim to such asshats...

Our local Dollar General was wiped out when before limits were set a customer bought $200 worth.

My concern was that either stores would be closed or limited to just food sales with toilet paper considered non-essential. Also it won’t go bad, unlike my ill-thought out purchase of a year’s supply of bananas last weekend. :-)

I use one roll per week and I have enough to last till July 2020. This toilet paper hoarding has gone beyond silly.

Or TP bomb the trees in front of the local Sorority.

Maybe it’s time to dust off the instructions for using “one sheet of toilet paper.” Sheryl Crow is an expert at this technique...lmao.

It's kind of funny how skin deep our civilization is when w are faced with crises, manufactured or otherwise.
Can you just imagine folks getting into fights at grocery sores over toilet rolls?
To: C19fan
Nevermind that.....Costco was sold out of cat litter. It was a horrible. I had to stop at Petco on the way home to pick some up. 2 separate stops!

Why exactly would I go buy a truckload of toilet paper and hoard it in my basement? For fear of the panicked overreaction by authorities who will force you to stay in your house. And believe me, their panic has nothing to do with the virus. It's all down to fear that if the worst should come to pass, they'll be blamed.

Was at Walmart yesterday, mainly grocery shopping plus some materials for backyard, found and bought 50+ items EXCEPT no toilet paper. As soon as stock boys placed a load on the shelves, it was gone within 30 seconds.
I saw people with no carts, carrying as much as they could hold in their outstretched arms walking to the checkout. Totally bizarre behavior. TP is produced by the tons in America, and there is oversupply, just has to move through the system.

Unless retailers impose buying restrictions on consumers - one package of TP per day, something like that - the hoarders will continue to stake out stores and grab up all of the available supply. There are only three legitimate explanations for trying to buy up palettes worth of toilet paper during this virus situation:
1) You're the delegate for the neighborhood and you're buying TP for everyone on your block (in which case you'll have written notes from everyone on your block).
2) You and your family are all suffering virulent cases of diarrhea which require vast quantities of toilet paper to clean up.
3) You have a psychological condition which compels you to hoard - you recognize the problem and are seeking professional help.

Diapers and Depends. Since I was shopping with the seniors was surprised at how many packages of depends were being sold.
