California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday ordered all Californians to stay at home, marking the first mandatory restrictions placed on the lives of all 40 million residents in the state’s fight against the novel coronavirus. The governor’s action comes at a critical time in California, where 19 people have died and an additional 958 have tested positive for the disease. The mandatory order allows Californians to continue to visit gas stations, pharmacies, grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery restaurants, banks and laundromats. People can leave their homes to care for a relative or a friend or seek healthcare services. It exempts workers in 16 federal critical infrastructure sectors, including food and agriculture, healthcare, transportation, energy, financial services, emergency response and others.

Well I’m heading out from Chino to Brea to Fullerton in a few hours to assist my Sister with the start of her Chemo sessions. Hell of a time for her to be going thru that.

I wouldn’t have issue with Washington State, California and New York ordering people to stay home. New yorkers have been leaving the cities and spreading this as they go to stay with family and friends. PA. Western border got hit hard......and it’s swept across the state now.

Colorado has suffered as California’s left for their villa’s there.

The key (imho) will be one thing only ..... well maybe there will be two or three keys and if those keys are removed it will definitely be game on (imho). Want to be optimistic but ..... there possibly are too many unknowns as is mostly always the given

a little advance warning on this would have gone a long way to help tamp down problems at grocery stores. in L A activity is way down anyway due to local regs - and i can’t really see this being necessary in the many many remote areas.

I just told a friend last night.....he might as well have said pretty please. They couch it in official language....Mandatory Shelter in Place....which means pretty please stay home. Totally unenforceable. She said but they were talking about a misdemeanor for not following it. I said....they don’t have enough police to deal with theft and made $950 a misdemeanor but won’t even come out for that. You really think they have enough cops to enforce something like this? She was worried because she travels to her mom’s house to care for her during the day.
